Do you know your veggies / fruits? What is light green...?!

Question:

Do you know your veggies / fruits? What is light green...?

Light green, about the size of a large avacado with light colored pulpy interior, somewhat like a cucumber, but with no seeds? The surface is bumpy and lumpy and may have a five segment construction.
It's not a cherimoya. Any ideas? An elderly neighbor lady swears by them for good health. I'm not even sure if it's a fruit or a vegetable! (Probably a veggie because there are no seeds inside.)

This is not a puzzler. I really don't know what this thing is and would like to know. Thanks!

Answers:
Is it a melontaunt? If so it is from the squash family there is also another name for them Chayote Squash. Look at this pic and see if it is the same http://www.wegmans.com/kitchen/ingredien...

It sounds like an indian fruit or vegetable that a freind of mine was recently telling me about. He said that they have a bitter taste to them...does this sound appropriate? If so it could be called a budamkaya or lemon cuke.

Is she ethnic? What is the flavor like? What area of the world are you in?
