Can i wear UGGS if i am a vegetarain?
My mom wants to buy me UGGS for Christmas. I used to never want them because i heard they were made of sheepskin.
IS THIS EVEN TRUE? but i heard the UGGS company waits until the sheep die naturally to remove their skin. AM I STILL ALLOWED TO HAVE EXCEPTIONS IF I AM A VEGETARIAN?

Being a vegetarian isn't a religion, it's a way of eating. Are you planning on eating the UGGS?
If the reason (or one of them) you are a vegetarian is that you don't believe animals should be killed for food, sport (???), or to use any part of their bodies for materials, then that's something else. Even if you believe this, then using parts of the animal if they've died without being killed by people wouldn't apply unless you've included it. You aren't contributing to it's death and you are just making use of what is left behind after it dies naturally. If left to simply decompose it would end up as food for the plants you get those vegetables to eat, so you'd be making use of it's body one way or another anyway.
NO! don't wear an innocent sheep, if that's what they're made out of.
if it really bothers you do some research find out what is done with the animals or if there are other viable options(synthetic ect.)
if it was removed AFTER the sheep died. than i don't see the problem. you're WEARING it, not EATING it...
Well............. It depends on the what the people do to the sheep or if they die naturally
I don't see a problem in it as long as you know the sheep wasn't killed due to the process of skinning the wool off.
That's up to you. Vegetarians that are Vegetarians for moral reasons subscribe to a logic that does not stand up to the light of day (The fact that you still eat eggs, and dairy). I really doubt that they wait until the sheep die "naturally". I'm having a hard time answering this, because If you still consume other animal products, eggs and dairy, then you still contribute to exploitation of dairy cows and chickens. Both of which still are killed to produce these products. I see this as a bit like leather, as in, I would be willing to bet that the sheepskin is a byproduct of the meat industry. Personally I would not use it, however I'm a Vegan not a Vegetarian, no was I a Vegetarian for long before becoming a Vegan. So to sum it up, ask the company if it's real and if it is, don't do it!
yes uggs are made of sheepskin. my friend also told me that the ugg company waits until the sheep dies naturally before removing the sheepskin, she said she read it in a newspaper. vegetarians are allowed to wear animal products, vegans are not allowed to wear animal products. also, if someone buys it for you, just throwing it away is like a waste. do what ever you feel is comfortable but i think it'll be ok if you do wear them
