Are there any egg substitutes that can be used in baking?!

Question:

Are there any egg substitutes that can be used in baking?

I love to cook but my sister is a serious and devoted vegetarian who doesn't eat eggs and it is difficult to make a nice dessert that is also satifying to her.

Answers:
You can buy bozed of egg replaces(usually about $5 a box), or experiement with recipes by replacing eggs with mashed up banana or apple sauce. Really the egg just acts as a binder in recipes, so anything with tat gunky stickiness going on will do the trick.

yes. egg whites, the clear stuff in the egg?.

There is a great book called "BAKIN' WITHOUT EGGS", it is egg-free dessert recipes. i have tried almost all of them and they are great. Not sure about what bookstore to get it at, but i ordered mine from amazon and it only cost me about $12.00 The author is ROSEMARIE EMRO. good luck

u can use egg whites or u can use vegetable oil instead

There is Ener G Egg Replacer available at health food stores. Also, you could use one banana per egg. This makes the cake taste like bananas though. You could also use 10 ounces of soda or 1/4 cup apple sauce per egg.

1 heaping tablespoonful of soy flour or cornstarch and add 2 tablespoonfuls of water for each egg used in a baking recipe

So, 1 egg=1 tablespoonful of cornstarch or soy flour+2 tablespoonfuls of water

I am allergic to eggs, I use EnerG Egg replacement in all my baking.
