How many people know you're vegan/vegetarian?
I keep my veganism to myself, but occasionally one of my friends finds out that I am vegan and get all suprised.friends that have known me for over six years.if they ask,I tell, but i don't go around protesting KFC or wearing peta t-shirts or telling people eating meat is wrong. So how many people know you're vegan/vegetarian?Are you open about it or do you keep it more to yourself?
Answers:
I know one vegan.
He really doesnt like people to make a fuss over him. Most people don't know he's a vegan either.
Why should anyone be afraid to share what they are? It shouldn't matter....vegan, vegitarian...meat eater...whatever. Thats a choice and its nothing to make a big deal over or to be ashamed about.
Honestly, people never pay attention to my vegetarianism. I go out with my friends to restaurants and fast food places and order food just like they because theirs such a wide variety of foods for vegans these days. Most of my close friends that ive known from my childhood know that i am because ive practiced it my whole life.
People dont know I'm a vegetarian unless I eat with them. I dont tell anyone that I dont have to because I find it easier to not have to explain why I dont eat meat, eggs, fish or poultry.
About a thousand. We have the same philosopy and and study and practice and grow, and we figure out things together and we help each other. I've put out a newsletter under one title or another about as long as I can remember. There were picnics outdoors in the mountain conferences about once a year people would go to. Vegetarianism and non killing is a definite part of the book which is a bible, written by theCreator's angels. A lot of it is kept among people we're close to.. It would not concern folks you have just a business relationship with. You would not mention any of it to many people. You help people more if you are open with it. The good life is shared. You never tell people meat is wrong. If they eat it it is not wrong for them, and they will not be interested in your group; they have other interests. Vegetarians tend to peaceful non-warring-non antagonistic issues, jobs, ways of life. Meat eating with or without hunting tends to make people less pacifistic, more aggressive, and in this kind of world we need policemen and if there is a war on we likely need soldiers. There is room for everyone and all beliefs.
I never mention it and unless they have eaten with me, people don't usually know. It's just what I eat and I don't make an issue.
i am a vegeterian, and i know only one other
I don't make a point of telling everyone, but people in my life normally find out fairly quickly. I never push my belief system on anyone because I believe to each his own. However, I've found that there have been numerous times in which an ignorant comment will be made that I can't stay silent about. That's usually when people learn about my diet. My diet is part of my belief system. Sorry for being rambly.
a few. I don't really get vegetarian diets- but then again I value them that they have the willpower not to eat meat so easily. I like animals, but I could never be that strong and say "I'm never going to eat this food again." I hate to see animals in pain, but never really think negitivately about what I am eating. I am a food wussy. I just eat everything and can't hold back. If it's there- I'll eat it. I still love vegetables- so yah, I could be a vegetarian for a day or two. xP
All my friends and family know that i am a vegetarian. Sure they made a big deal out of it at first but then eventually they have to get used to it right.
theres no point in hiding it because there is nothing to hide !
millions of ppl r veg in this world!
Ure a veg cause you choose to be ..dont let anyone let u feel bad abt it..!
All of my friends and family know, but most of my coworkers don't. I generally keep it to myself around the people I work with, even when we all go out to eat. They often make it a huge issue once they find out. If anyone asks why I don't eat meat, I am very open about it.
only me
I know many people and everyone know that i am a vegetarian. it has nothing to hide. And belive me it is good to be vegetarian.
i'M A VEGGIE!!
I am a vegan and I do not hide it. When my friends and I go out to eat, we just order what they have that is meatless. I know many people that are vegetarians or vegans and I don't think that any of them hides it. Most of the people that I know are aware that I am a vegan and most of them do not say anything about it. My family doesn't give me anything about it, but my aunts, uncles, and grandparents give me a lot of grief about it, but I've gotten used to it over the years. I never tell people that they are horrible for eating meat or preach to them about becoming a vegetarian/vegan, but if someone asks me why I practice this lifestyle, I will explain it to them. Your dietary choices and the way you live your life are nothing to be ashamed of, and although veganism gets a lot of shocked responses, its better to let people know, than have them accidentally make you food one day that contains meat/dairy/eggs/etc. Good luck with your veganism.

My family knows and a few of my friends know too. I tell people if they ask.
Hiya , I'm a lacto-ovo vegetarian.
Family and close friends and possibly if anyone asks if I am when they spot how much fruit and veg I am buying. I don't go shouting to all and sundry (well except on here, but we are in the veggie and vegan forum.) I don't protest abou KFC or Macdonalds etc or wear slogans, I am not a PETA member and only tell people about vegetarianism if they ask or come out with some egregious and outlandish statement like 'Not eating meat, it's just wrong' 'Vegetarianism is against nature' or my personal fave (LOL) 'What's the matter with you, woman get a nice juicy steak down yer!!!!'
everyone that i've ever eaten around, and more, know that i'm a vegetarian. like you, i don't go around displaying it on my shirt or whatever, but since i have been a vegetarian for most of my life, it is pretty much common knowledge amongst my friends & some of my schoolmates. i don't make a point to tell everyone i know, but if i'm at someone's house or whatever and they're serving me food then of course i have to tell them. i also tell people if it comes up in the conversation. say for example if someone said their sister was veg i would tell that person because i know that they would accept it instead of criticizing me for it.
I don't preach to others about eating meat, but everyone I know is aware of me being vegetarian. Mainly because they eventually noticed I just don't eat meat, and I always bring vegetarian meals to pot-lucks etc.
all my friends know im a vegetarian. they are suprised when they find out but about 5 minutes later, they act like its nothing
