Do vegetarians eat ramen noodles?!

Question:

Do vegetarians eat ramen noodles?

i was wondering because there is no meat but they are meat flavored

Answers:
All the major brands use animal ingredients in *ALL* their flavors!! Per Maruchan and Nissan food customer service they all (at least) contain Bonito (an oriental fish) listed under the term Natural Flavor. The only place I've ever found 'trustworthy' pre-packed ramen is from the link below.

yeah

The noodles...yes. The flavoring packet no. It contains beef or chicken.

It depends on how much of a vegitarian they are. Like you say there is no actual meat just flavoring, but some refuse to eat even meat flavors it's all about the person and how strict they are!

Meat flavored = Meat

Otherwise you would see Spices and/or Vegetable Broth, etc.

If the word MEAT appears in the ingredients, there is SOME sort of meat or meat-by-product.

For example:

Nissin's Top Ramen Oriental flavor has no meat flavoring, but
Maruchan's Oriental flavor does have beef extract.

Read the label carefully.

I do, but I don't eat the flavor packet. I put them in some other kind of soup or broth. Not because of the animal flavorings, just because of the MSG.

all ramen noodles contain pork

A few brands don't have meat extract in them and I eat those. I read the package and see what's in the flavor packet. The beef and chicken flavors have beef and chicken extract. I don't eat those.

If the "flavoring" is derived from animals, then no, vegetarians would not eat it.

You can buy plain noodles and flavor them with vegetable bullion. You can find the plain noodles in the Asian food section of the store.

It depends on the vegetarian. I personally don't eat any type of soup like Roman noodle, because they use a chicken or beef broth. True vegetarians wouldn't eat it. I've been one for 12 years. I cut meat and fish out of my diet, so why would I want to eat something that taste like it??!!!

Yes, you can eat the noodles. But not the packets, they have meat extracts (and MSG, which is really bad for you)

oriental flavor is vegan,I think. But the other kinds like beef and chicken have chicken powder or beef powder.

I eat mushroom flavored. I am hoping the "natural flavor" listed is not meat derived.
