Answers:
1 cup dry TVP
1 cup water
2 8oz.cans tomato sauce
1 15 oz. can kidney beans, drained & rinsed
1 cup chopped onion
2 cloves minced garlic
2 tsp. chili powder

Put all into saucepan and bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes! Super easy and yummy!

I just make tacos with black or pinto beans instead of fake meat. They're delicious!

I like to throw in anything I like. Onions, green and red peppers, mushrooms,
sauted, mushrooms, red kidney beans, canned tomatoes, celery. Cook it
all up in a skillet. Throw in the tvp and mix it up. Lots of chili powder and
salt and pepper. You can't mess it up. Any combination of things you like
will taste good.

Refried beans - nohing beats it. Add a bit of onion and garlic for flavour too and it's very filling

I just ate some with leftover red beans and rice I made and some corn and bean salsa. I filled the soft shells and baked them covered for 15 min. to warm everything and then added vegan cheese and baked uncovered 5 min. It was nice because it made the shells a bit crisp in places. I topped with sour cream.

The red beans and rice recipes are everywhere. I used onion, red yellow and green peppers in mine.

I converted a Texas chili recipe to vegan using TVP and when I do tacos I just add a little masa harina to thicken it up a bit. (off the top 'o my head). about 2 cups tvp, 1/4 cup oil, 1 1/2 tbs chili powder, 1 tbs paprika, 1/2 tsp oregano. 1/2 tsp cumin, 1 tbs masa harina, dash Tabasco should be about right (I tend not to measure too close for chili anyway). Sizzle the spices in the oil, then add TVP and masa along with enough water to get soupy and cook until thick and the raw masa taste is gone. If you want/need a more detailed recipe email me, I'm traveling and don't have my recipes handy.
