Would You Ever Go Vegan Or Vegetarian?!
Would You Ever Go Vegan Or Vegetarian?
I'm a vegan, have been for a year and a half, I went vegan for animal rights. Would you go vegan/vegetarian? Why would you do it? Join Peta!! (People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals) It rocks!!! lolz go to google and type in "chew on this reason to go vegan" and watch the movie!! It's sad, it's what made me go vegan.
Answers:
I would never do that. First of all, I want meat, and secondly , I have heard repeatedly that people would eat a strictly vegetarian diet develop considerable health problems if the meatless diet is continued long enough. To me the whole idea is a useless fad, nothing more.
About the only meat I will not eat any more is veal, since I disagree with the idea of turning a calf into an anemic wreck in a confining cage.
But I love the thrill of pushing a big, yummy cheeseburger right down my throat.

What, me worry?
Once a week for my health.
after looking at some of the peta video's im thinking about it but it just seems so hard to give up meat. i love steak but hate how it becomes what it is. i do think that peta goes a bit too far on some grounds but i respect what they are trying to do. i might try and see how it goes though. CHEEEKENS!!
sorry to go all spirtual on you but God said we were to eat meat :)
I would because I think about it sometimes but I make myself forget when it comes to meals, a lot of the time.
Though I like veggies realy well, I like meat as well. I do draw the line with certain types though like Veal.
Sorry...
I've always been vegetarian and want to go vegan eventually. There is nothing inherently unhealthy or deficient about a vegan diet. Of course you have to eat healthy and plan your diet properly. The only animal food we are MEANT to consume is breast milk in our infant years. It is the only animal food that all herbivorous mammals consume.
No, I enjoy meat.
I do admire that you are so passionate about Peta and have adjusted your nutritional needs for it.
I have not eaten flesh since 1970. My daughters have been vegan since 2000. They hate PETA even though they are militant about animals rights.
No I wouldn't because I feel that we are carnivorous beings and need to eat meat. I really enjoy a good Porterhouse Steak! Besides if everyone on the planet were vegan there wouldn't be enough food to feed everyone and there would be an over population of animals.
Would never go vegan, nor would I brag about joining PETA. Besides being ignorant and boorish (comparing chickens to holocaust victims!!!), they fund violent activist groups, use fraudulant means to raise money, and are basically hypocrites.
It's unfortunate that they purposely take advantage of well-meaning people like yourself.
Having lived on a farm, and having raised beef, as well as having visited a LARGE number of farms, I have never once seen an animal being treated poorly.
I used to be a semi-animal activist. I was and for the most part completely against animal testing for cosmetics, and fur. Through my education, I've found that animal activists branched from the Pantheist Ideology. From them, they believe that "everything is God", in which every living or nonliving organism on earth is one, and by harming one, you ultimately harm God. This form of thought has many flaws and if there is one, it is completely false.
This train of thought is from the world of change, and in the world of the change, change changes into the world of the same thus proving to be inadequate. It also never leaves the physical world which means that their belief in God, does not pertain so "all is God", means nothing to them.
I was once a believer in PETA, and a strong supporter until I found out their real motives, with the many scandals, laundering, and murder that they were involved in.
Being a Vegan has many health benefits, and I encourage you to do what you please, but for your own future, do more research about such organizations
I've tried but I love eating chicken and fish. But that's all I eat, I wont eat cow, pig, rabit, dog, cat, duck, moose, deer, or anything like that. Just fish and chicken, and I don't even eat chicken all that much.
I've got a friend who has a daughter who is 11, and she is 5'6", so whatever to the "vegetarian diet will stunt your growth. Her child has been on a vegetarian diet since she was born. The mom is 5'3, too.
I have been a vegetarian because of:
1. Cruelty to Animals
2. Environmental Issues
3. Health Benefit
4. I absolutely LOVE animals. Killing farm animals is just like killing your cat or dog. Imagine a pig was your pet. You wouldn't kill it, would you?
I eat meat., not a lot but I do. Could I go Vegan/Veggie? Maybe. It seems like a lot of work to me (im generally lazy J/K) and its not something I'm passionate about.
This is what I'm passionate about at this moment... PETA.
I have issues with PETA, I appreciate people being passionate in their beliefs. Peta, I feel, infringes on "non peta" people's rights to do as they please. Too militant, I guess. I have never seen a meat eaters group throw paint at a vegan/vegetarian group... Or put up a bill board saying "eating veggies causes cancer" with a picture of a cancer survivor on it (I think it was a mayor from NY but I could be wrong). Just to tacky for my taste and mean sprited. Now someone is gonna say "well eating veggies DOESN'T cause cancer and eating meat does".. maybe that's true but why do you care so much if someone else gets cancer? Or whatever else can happen if we eat meat. Its a choice that the person eating it makes and why is that PETA' or anyone elses business? I feel that PETA is not pro choice and I'm not referring to abortions. I don't want other people telling me how to live. I think you can voice your opinions without violence or disrespect. I respect people that choose the vegan/veg lifestyle whatever your reason is. I should be respected for my choices as well. I'm am passionate about things, like breast feeding, natural childbirth and homeschooling. I don't feel the need to push my beliefs and choices on others but I do tell share by beliefs when asked about these subjects.
Eat Veggies! or Meat!
I am a vegetarian.. .I know PETA exaggerates alot.. but I am going to watch your video... I will see what I think then!
I am a vegetarin (for animal rights)! And I have been for about two and a half years now. My friends and family are huge meat eaters and think I am crazy but I just cant eat an animal and they are treated so bad...
I am a vegitarian, but not a vegan. I have yet to make the full transition as to not eating anything at all that comes from animals, so right now im just not eating any meat what so ever.
Does anyone know what the true motives of PETA are?1) PETA president and co-founder Ingrid Newkirk has described her group’s overall goal as “total animal liberation.” This means no meat, no milk, no zoos, no circuses, no wool, no leather, no hunting, no fishing, and no pets (not even seeing-eye dogs). PETA is also against all medical research that requires the use of animals.
2) Despite its constant moralizing about the “unethical” treatment of animals by restaurant owners, grocers, farmers, scientists, anglers, and countless other Americans, PETA has killed over 10,000 dogs and cats at its Norfolk, Virginia headquarters. During 2003, PETA put to death over 85 percent of the animals it collected from members of the public.
3) PETA has given tens of thousands of dollars to convicted arsonists and other violent criminals. This includes a 2001 donation of $1,500 to the North American Earth Liberation Front (ELF), an FBI-certified “domestic terrorist” group responsible for dozens of firebombs and death threats. During the 1990s, PETA paid $70,200 to an Animal Liberation Front (ALF) activist convicted of burning down a Michigan State University research laboratory. In his sentencing recommendation, a federal prosecutor implicated PETA president Ingrid Newkirk in that crime. And PETA vegetarian campaign coordinator Bruce Friedrich told an animal rights convention in 2001 that “blowing stuff up and smashing windows” is “a great way to bring about animal liberation.”
4) PETA activists regularly target children as young as six years old with anti-meat and anti-milk propaganda, often waiting outside their schools to intercept them as they walk to and from class-without notifying parents. One piece of kid-targeted PETA literature tells small children: “Your Mommy Kills Animals!” PETA brags that its messages reach over 2 million children every year, including thousands reached by e-mail without the permission of their parents. One PETA vice president told the Fox News Channel’s audience: “Our campaigns are always geared towards children, and they always will be.”
5) PETA has used a related organization, the PETA Foundation, to fund the misnamed Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), a deceptive animal rights group that promotes itself as an unbiased source of medical and nutritional information. PCRM's president also serves as president of the PETA Foundation.
6) PETA runs campaigns seemingly calculated to offend religious believers. One entire PETA website is devoted to the claim-despite ample evidence to the contrary-that Jesus Christ was a vegetarian. PETA holds protests at houses of worship, even suing one church that tried to protect its members from Sunday-morning harassment. Its billboards taunt Christians with the message that hogs “died for their sins.” PETA insists, contrary to centuries of rabbinical teaching, that the Jewish ritual of kosher slaughter shouldn't be allowed. And its infamous “Holocaust on Your Plate” campaign crassly compares the Jewish victims of Nazi genocide with farm animals.
7) PETA has repeatedly attacked research foundations like the March of Dimes, the Pediatric AIDS Foundation, and the American Cancer Society, because they support animal-based research that might uncover cures for birth defects and life-threatening diseases. PETA president Ingrid Newkirk has said that “even if animal research resulted in a cure for AIDS, we would be against it.”
Trust me,peta is not cool. They don't want animals kept as pets, used even if they found a cure for aids,,they have killed many animals.Being a vegetarian is great, but don't support peta. There are many other better animal rights groups.trust me,I'm not lying,I'm a vegan myself.
Currently, I am vegetarian. I am trying to go vegan. I went vegetarian because of animal rights.
I've been a vegetarian for 7 years. I did this for the animals and my health.
i am a vegetarian and a peta member! i've been a vegetarian pretty much since i was like 4 or 5 (i'm 16 now). and i dont eat eggs or drink milk.
I have been a vegetarian ever since I was born. My parents are vegetarians too. I stayed a vegetarian because animal rights are very important in my opinion.
I'm already vegan and I love it! :]
