Does anyone have any cheap vegatarian recipies?

pleas, without any eggs or dairy products, and im a pretty good cook and i have plenty of time so length and difficulty isnt really a problem

you get some portobello mushrooms put them on a bbq . some yellow zuccini beside it cook some basmhati rice and pineapple slices.
its not a gourmet meal but my girlfriends like it.

I would suggest Fried Tofu with Hoisin Sauce-- Easy to make... Just deep fry tofu seasoned with salt or a little soy sauce and cover with this sweet sauce-- You can find "deep fried" tofu [it has a brown covering over tofu] and hoisin sauce in the asian aisle or an asian specialty store.

Soups, Wild Rice is great with other vegetables and lastly, I would suggest looking for a recipe for Risotto.

What about Seafood?

Potatoes Baked with Tomatoes: Hearty, simple

2 large red/yellow onions thinly sliced
2 lbs potatoes peeled, thinly sliced
i lb tomatoes, fresh or canned, sliced with juice
6 tbsp olive oil
1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese or Romano Cheese
Salt, pepper
fresh basil [few leaves]
1/4 c water
Serves 6

1. preheat oven to 350F. brush large baking dish generously with oil.
2. Arrange a layer of onions on dish, followed by potatoes, then tomatoes. Pour on a little oil, sprinkle with cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
3. Repeat until veggies are used up-- ending up with overlapping pieces of tomatoes and potatoes.
Tear basil and add them here and there among veggies. Sprinkle with cheese and a little oil.
4. Pour water and bake for an hour.
5. if it begins to get too brown, put a foil or flat cookie sheet on top. Serve hot. :)

Honey Braised Vegetables with Bean Curd

Main Ingredients

Mushroom, Potato, Honey





Ingredients Method
8 - dried mushrooms
250 gms - white sweet potato, halved and sliced
2 tbsps - cornflour
2 tbsp - peanut oil
3 thin slices - ginger
2 tbsp - soya sauce
1 tbsp - honey
2 tbsps - sesame oil
45 gms - fresh bean curd, cut into 1 cm strips
4 - sp - canned or fresh baby corn
230 gms - canned water chestnut, drained

Soak mushrooms in hot water to cover for 30 mins.
Drain, reserving ? cup liquid.
Squeeze mushrooms to remove excess liquid. Remove stems.
Slice the mushrooms thinly. Slice ginger thinly.
Heat the oil in a wok or heavy based frying pan, swirling gently to coat base and side.
Add ginger and stir-fry over medium heat for 1 min.
Add the mushrooms and stir-fry for 30 seconds.
Add sweet potato with the soya, honey, sesame oil, mushroom liquid and fried bean curd.
Simmer, uncovered, 15 mins.
Dissolve cornflour in a little water, add to pan.
Stir until liquid thickens.
Add the spring onions, corn and water chestnuts, simmer 1 minute.
