Answers:
A vegan (pronounced VEE-gun) is someone who, for various reasons, chooses to avoid using or consuming animal products. While vegetarians choose not to use flesh foods, vegans also avoid dairy and eggs, as well as fur, leather, wool, down, and cosmetics or chemical products tested on animals.

ok? how can you tell... ? why? what's going on?

there are i think 4 different types of vegan so ask your friends what vegan she is and use one of the sights the other people said to look it up i think that's the problem you cant find differences and what's wrong

veggitarian maybe not vegan

No animal products. Typically no honey, but opinions on this vary from vegan to vegan.

I consider veganism to be diet related, however many carry it out to be a lifestyle. No leather, suede, no products associated with anial testing, etc. I guess vegans would look a little hypocritcal if they pranced around in fur coats and whatnot.

Are you the Vegan? Did she ask you to find out if she is Vegan? Being Vegan is a very personal choice and it seems odd that you would want to make sure she is "following the rules."

Veganism is a lifestyle, not just a diet. It seeks to eliminate all consumption and use of animals and animal products/byproducts.

This means the diet cannot include "meat," dairy, eggs, honey, etc... This means clothing cannot include leather, fur, wool, etc..
This means products should not be tested on animals or contain animal ingredients like carmine, lanolin, glycerin, etc...
This means the person should strive at all times to avoid anything that supports the exploitation and cruelty of animals.
