Thanks for responses! I am (hence the interest in people's views!) though sometimes I see nothing wrong with meat eating. I just think, hey, I can live without it, n I wouldn't be able to kill it myself..

I agree that carnivores have to eat meat, but we are not carnivores - we're omnivores, like pigs. Pigs eat barely any meat in comparison to us - mainly veg.

Plus, the 'its natural' debate doesnt fit with me - rape is also natural for a LOT of animal species - does that make it right?

And there's protein in soy, lentils (in fact beans of any kind,) nuts, seeds, dairy (if you're not vegan)...

I like meat too much

I don't make my own meals. My mom does. Plus I like the taste of meat. I would like to be a vegetarian but I have no self-control lol

Oh trust me, I've tried it. I hate harming animals, but steak is just too damn good yo. . .

i like my meat...plain and simple...

I'm not a vegetarian because I enjoy the taste of meat and I don't see anything wrong with it.

I like to eat meat and eggs. There are foods I enjoy eating that if I switched to being a vegetarian I'd have to give up so I'll keep eating meat.

nature designed me otherwise

i love meat

I used to be a vegetarian because I saw the way meat was made and it made me think of all those poor animals. But a few years later I got over it because I realized that we maybe wouldn't be here without them If you think about it. The only meat I eat is hamburger though.

Give me a good steak anytime

Not a vegetarian because I prefer a wide variety of foods that are not so limiting. Also, I don't know many vegetarians that are healthy. Think back to cave man days.. they did not eat just vegetables. It wasn't meant to be. We need iron and proteins that vegetables just do not have enough of without having to supplement with vitamins.

I dont eat nothing with a face. The animal abuse in this country (& others as well)is satanic.Animals have feelings too & love in their hearts.

I grew up eating meat.

Most vegetarian's I see around (live near Berkeley) look sickley and not very healthy.

Honestly, because I love to eat meat. I didn't grow up around animals, so eating an animals doesn't bother me.

im sort of a vegetarian because last year in agrculture the sub that was there for a few days kept showing a slaughter video that had cows in it.
now its hard to eat any animal...

iam not a vegetarian because, i think meat has essential vitamin and minerals you cant get from other foods and we were designed to eat meat (our teeth are designed to eat meat)

I hate vegetarians... such a pitiful cause.. seems very immature to me...

Meat is good for you, we were made to eat meat and we have been for millions of years and look where it's got us.

Protein found in meat is as essential to the body as water is to a plant

steak and buffalo wings are too frickin good! Also being a vegetarian is for pansies.

I don't believe that killing and eating animals is wrong. It has been the way of the world ever since animals separated themselves into herbivores and carnivores. In my opinion, attaching an artificial morality to a type of food is just not warranted.

That said, it's a personal choice for each of us. I'll respect your rights and beliefs if you respect mine.

I am not because i was never exposed to eating only vegtables...and things like that. I cant imagine living my life without the meat and fast food and going out to restaurants...i guess had my parents asked me to be i might be but im not and i am happy for it. there really isnt anything wrong with eating meat...from my perspective but we all have are own opinions and ways of running our lives so for those who are i wouldnt judge, and i dont expect them to judge me

Two words. BACON CHEESEBURGER . . . say no more, say no more.

It's a personal choice that probably everyone, or many many people have contemplated at one time or another. There are just too many foods I love that have meat in them. There's this one dish in particular that I grew up eating, it's been in our family forever, I just couldn't give it up. I know I would never last. I have a couple vegetarian friends and we go out and have meals together. There's no reason we can't all get along.

cause meat tastes good, and i like it. I like tofu & legumes too, but not as much as i enjoy a good cut of beef.

When I was a teen I said I was vegetarian because my mom was litteraly the WORST cook I know , that way veggie or not I made my own food lol....worked like a charm but when I went out I had a steak every now and then.....I kept the habit and eat mainly veggie but still eat meat 2-3 times a week

i am a vegetarian because i think that meat is just gross. chewing the dead skin and flesh of an animal? how disgusting is that?

i became a vegetarian when i was a little kid because i thought (and still think) it is wrong to kill animals just to eat them when there are so many other foods available to us. i think it is sad that they are only born to be killed later. now, the idea of eating an animal's flesh is completely repulsive and barbaric to me.

I'm a vegan for all reasons.

When I was about Five years old, I discovered that meat was animals and vice versa. This was wrong so I stopped eating animals and became vegetarian.

After many years, and learning more about diet and health, I decided to go the whole way, for health as well as moral reasons.

Oh, someone (French sounding) with another answer referred to vegetarians as being unhealthy. Look at the dietary guidelines for Americans, ...eat more fruit and veg... never heard a doctor saying eat more red meat, fat and cholesterol.

i am a vegetarian because meat does more harm than good even though it fills the stomach and gives temporary strength. animals are a form of life too in this vast scheme of things. personally, i would rather pet an animal like a dog or cat on the head rather than butcher it and eat it up. its just not kind and noble to think of other forms of life as one's food and vital source of nourishment. there are many many ways to bypass the animal eating thinking and ultimately fill human needs for food.

The way I see it, people have evolved to eat both plants and meat as a mechanism for basic survival. Early man didn't have crops and depended on meat to live on. Man is still the top predator on earth because we are all descended from early man. Making a choice not to eat meat is as unnatural as choosing never to have sex.

i am a vegetarian because meat just-well grosses me out
just the idea of chewing on muscles of a cow or pig seems disgusting to me

ive realized that if i dont buy meat at the grocery store and eat it, someone else will
but, it dosent have to be me right?

and i am much healthier since i went veg, so theres another reason
