IT IS GRAVY!!! It is not anything but gravy! And no, it is not made from an animal.

not if its made with any meat. u should read the package and check to be sure

they are usually flavored from meat fat

probably not, look at the ingredients on the pkg its usually dried beef or pork stock in it. go to yahoo food section and type in vegetarian gravy and see what pops up. i am sure there are recipes for it out there.

That is made with some type of basis of meat. But good grief, the meat is so far removed I really don't think it would count. You probably get more protein on those organically grown vegtables that the farmer's dog peed on before they went to market.

Not normally. Check the ingredients on the back to be sure, but usually unless it specifies vegetarian, it usually has some type of beef or chicken base.

i am sure that there is some type of vegetarian gravy out there, but most gravies do have some form of meet in them. i make gravy from scratch and usually there is like beef or chicken fat, or reminets of the meat in it.

You'll have to check the package to make sure that it doesn't have any kind of fat.

NO . IT HAS ALOT OF BAD STUFF IN IT TRY MAKEING IT FROM VEGGIES STOCK.

no

Most of those gravy packets are made with some sort of meat base. AS far as "brown gravy" goes I am not really sure...you would have to check the ingredients on the back to see if any meat is listed. You know you should be able to boil vegetable stock down and add a little corn starc, flour and water (all mixed together before hand). You slowly pour the mixture into the boiling veggie stock as you whip it in very quickly.

Most gravy mixes contain one of the following, Lactose, Milk, Beef extract or Beef fat. There are certain mixes which are vegan friendly. Check out a good supermarket or Vegan store. Any gravy made from broth can contain meat traces.
Hope this helps.

There are vegan gravies flavored like chicken, beef or mushroom. Just check at the store.

Not if the ingredients has any meat product in it.

no.......

There is a British gravey called BISTO that makes a great vegatarian gravy with no meat in it. Look for it in a international aisle of a supermarket or a British grocery store.

NO

If it is brown gravy, it is most likely flavored with some kind of beef stock. That means it is NOT vegetarian! Even if it has a little meat product, it is NOT vegetarian. Read that list of ingredients before you eat anything.

White gravy is sometimes made with just flour and water, but then it doesn't have much flavor. I don't know what they would flavor it with, if they didn't put something in it.

You'd be much better off making your own, or going to a health food store and getting one that you know doesn't have meat by-product in it.

you should check out the ingredients. Usually they are not, as they use animal fats to make the gravy.

You can buy vegetarian and vegan gravies and stocks. Generally in GB they will have the Vegetarian Society's seedling 'v' symbol on or be marked with a green leaf or V and the words suitable for vegetarians. . Most supermarkets will stock a few different brands. You can sometimes get a lovely Vegetarian onion gravy which makes a nice change!!! Some brands will even be lower in sodium or fat !!!

Probably not. Unless it states that it is from a vegetable like mushrooms or something then it isn't vegetarian.

No. Many contain animal fat etc. There is a vegetarian brand in many grocery stores called Serv-a-gravy that is vegetarian friendly and most health food stores have a few gravies specifically made for vegetarians.

I've made gravy out of veg. stock and flour and added Kitchen Bouquet to it and it was quite good!

Check the ingredients on the pack. Most are made from meat extract otherwise I don't see how you can call it gravy, which is after all thickened meat juices. I am sure there are veggie alternatives, use veggie bouillon blocks or yeast extract and make your own.

gravy must have some animal fat, butter or veggie oil to cook the flour in. If you use veggie oil and water instead of milk it would be vegetarian.

Hain makes gravy packets that are vegetarian!

Other than that the answer is a resounding NO!

Gravy is *way* to easy to make, why waste time with the packets anyway?

No, its made with some type of animal fat. But you can buy vegetarian gravy.

i don't think so i think all gravy is made from animal fat. but i'm not sure so i just don't eat gravy at all lol!

Some are, some aren't. Look at the ingredients.

Onion gravy is often veggie, and I think Bisto does a veggie gravy also!
