Im a vegetarian. There are ots of choices. I dont like Boca brand. Morning star is great! Then there are luch meats. Not sure the brand but even walmart sells them in the fresh vedgetable/fruit section. White box. Ive had ham and turkey! delicious. Smart dogs puts out hot dogs next to the lunch meats. Theres no reason to torture and eat animals, there are far too many options to be so deperate. Plus its way healthier. Its sad carnivores think its all about salad.
Been a veggie for 11 years. Cheese and eggs, if you eat them. Seafood, if you eat that. Broccoli. Get some protein powder and have a protein shake everyday, I put mine in my coffee every morning, it's tasty as hell!
nuts,beans like kidney,black eyed peas,soy,tofu,lentils.
No. Meat is natural. It's called "The food chain". Maybe you've heard. There are these three types of mammal, herbivores, carnivores and omnivores. We're omnivores. Vegetarianism and veganism and selective diets on the basis of nothing more than preposterous social ideas about animals aren't healthy.
I love animals. But at the end of the day their purpose is to be skinned, eaten and worn.
Soy is a good source of protein, found in tons of food carried in grocery stores these days (veggie burgers, fake chicken, hot dogs, bacon, sausage, all found in the freezer section usually around the breakfast food). Potatos are good as well as almonds. I've found thru my many years of being a vegetarian that taking a flax seed oil pill in the mornings help out my skin and hair proteins as well.

I am a vegetarian who works out in the gym regularly. Go with milk, cheese, whey powder, beans, lentils and whole wheat for good quality protein.
Check out Kurma's books on vegetarian cooking - he's an Aussie cook who's a vegetarian and his recipes are easy to follow and come out delicious. You can get them on amazon.com.
Hope this helps. Regards.
i'm a vegetarian and my main source of protein is bagels (9+ grams of protein), with peanut butter or cream cheese. any dairy products have protein in them as well, and many vegetables. =)
Everything has protein.
I get mine from soya products, whole wheat pasta and bread, nuts and animal rennet free cheese.
MYTH: "Humans were designed to eat meat."
FACT: Although humans are capable of digesting meat, human anatomy clearly favors a diet of plant foods. Our digestive systems are similar to those of the other plant-eaters and totally unlike those of carnivores. The argument that humans are carnivores because we possess "canine" teeth ignores the fact that other plant-eaters have "canine" teeth, and that ONLY plant-eaters have molar teeth. Finally, if humans were designed to eat meat, we wouldn't suffer from heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and osteoporosis from doing so. [more on this topic]
MYTH: "Vegetarians get little protein."
FACT: Plant foods offer abundant protein. Vegetables are around 23% protein on average, beans 28%, grains 13%, and even fruit has 5.5%. For comparison, human breast milk is only 5% (designed for the time in our lives when our protein needs are as high as they'll ever be). The US Recommended Daily Allowance is 8%, and the World Health Organization recommends 4.5%. [more on this topic, inc. chart]
MYTH: "Beans are a good source of protein."
FACT: There is no such thing as a special "source of protein" because all foods -- even plants -- have plentiful protein. You might as well say "Food is a good source of protein". In any event, beans (28%) don't average much more protein per calorie than common vegetables (23%). [more on this topic, inc. chart]
MYTH: "Meat protein is better than plant protein. You have to combine plant foods to make the protein just as good."
FACT: This myth was popularized in the 1971 book Diet for a Small Planet and has no basis in fact. The author of the book admitted nearly twenty years ago that she made a mistake (in the 1982 edition of the same book). [more on this topic]
