What is the difference between bean curd and tofu?!

Question:

What is the difference between bean curd and tofu?

Answers:
Tofu is Chinese/Japanese for a specific type of bean curd. It is usually the type that you eat in Chinese restaurants with firmness ranging from firm to very soft. In general, they are exactly the same. However, there is a type of bean curd with an extremely soft and light texture, almost like brulee and is eaten as dessert called Tofu Flower. The term 'tofu' in general do not refer to this type of bean curd.

Bean curd is an English term for soybean curdles.

Tofu is a Chinese/Japanese word for soybean curdles. I speak Cantonese. The Cantonese word for bean curd is "dau fu" which is where the word "to fu" comes from.

No difference.
