Eating meat is terrible for the environment and the body. A long time ago, meat was needed when there was no Safeway down the store and you basicly ate food as it came along. We now have alternatives that are much healthier and the real reason people still eat meat is for entertainment. Does pepperoni on a pizza make it any healthier? Are hot dogs and hamburgers good for our hearts? It is sad that animals must suffer and die just so we can have a tasty snack.

gud me tooo!

Yeah,it is a really, really sick and cruel process.

cruelty is spelled like this. It seems like you just dropped meat right? Well this is going to take a alot of planning with your diet but if you really want it than you should be able to cut out the meat... Not all factories are like this, but just having any is devastating.

Animal cruelty is one of the worst things in the world. People feel superior if they control and beat a living being weaker than themselves. It is just wrong.

You, my dear, are an easily persuaded dufuss. After seeing only one item on how meat gets into those clean looking packages you see at the store, you have labled yourself as a "Vegetarian". With commitment like you show, I doubt if your new-found classification will last through the first or second Burger King Commercial.

it is cruel
keep researching to find out why else meat is bad and also how to eat a balanced diet. it's easy once you know what you're doing

and keep at it! (being a vegetarian)
:)

Good on you. Keep researching. Make sure you balance your diet (as in make sure you still have all your vitamins, protein etc). It's great once you get into it. I am so much healthier for it.

I'm assuming you say it on PETA or GoVeg or somewhere similar. Either way, the things they show in those videos not only are a tiny minority of cases (not at all the standard practise they claim) but illegal, and places found doing such things can be shut down.
Animal cruelty isn't the 'done thing', and people who think it is have been conned by PETA's propaganda.

How come you never see any organizations fighting for the rights of rats and roaches? Why doesn't PETA go after Orkin and Terminix? In any case, my ancestors spent about a million years cringing in caves and scampering up trees to stay off the breakfast menu. Now it's my turn!

Health-related vegetarianism is one thing, but "Activist" vegetarianism is just a phony moral position that lets people be smug and sanctimonious without actually having to DO anything or make any real sacrifices

Here's something to think about, "activist" vegetarians: you do and support a lot more damage to the environment, violence against animals (including people), shithead foreign policy, wasting of resources and ghoulish corporate monsterism with your cars than I do with my cheeseburger.

If you're an "activist" vegetarian and you still drive, put a sock in it. Or try making a sacrifice you really have to be committed to, and one that could really make a difference: punt the car and get a bicycle. I did it. If a lot more people did it, this would be a completely different country. Being a vegetarian won't change a damn thing.
