What are your feelings about poultry, cattle and hog confinements?
Does the general public understand that the majority of our meat sources are supplied by producers who utilize the concept of a confinement, as opposed to open feed lot or free range?

It's disgusting, cruel, and should be outlawed. I don't eat flesh foods, and I am perfectly healthy.technically, we don't have have the intestinal design of meat eaters,,,,so that should tell us something!
It is so messed up an cruel,if any of the treatment that factory farmed animals was put on a dog or cat, that would be a huge case of animal cruelty. It sickens me that people do not care or just don't think about about it.god gave animals the gift of life and people take that away just to please their tastebuds.I don't know how people eat meat and don't think that they are eating something that was a living, breathing thing.
In this area we have hog barns that are so inhumane as to make you cry just to see them. They are virtual sausage factorys.
Their head is in a halter and they are unable to move, throughout their life. Hosed down with sores on them and barely able to stand. We studied agriculture, during the study we were to visit feed lots and hog barns and chicken houses. When we saw them and did our report, I couldn't eat the chicken sandwitch in my lunch. We throw our lunches away. And became vegetarians. There is nothing that comes from those places that can in any way be good to put into your body.
Any decent meat is hamburger. Heads, tumors and real yuck is thrown into a vat to make hot dogs. Green slime covers the top and bleech and chemicals are added for the carmel color. read on the package. think about this if it is to bad for hamburger, it goes into lunch meat. But don't take my word for it go visit for yourself. More vegetarians are made that way.
To keep people from dieing from disease they add nitrates that kills everything. Now they are proving it also causes cancer.
Vegan&Proud, I think everyone who eats meat realise that it was once a living, breathing thing. That we don't agree with your point of view doesn't mean we're idiots who don't know where meat comes from.
Lola, that's just wrong. We don't have the intestinal design of a dog, no, but our omnivorous gut is clearly adapted for meat and is much more like that of a carnivore than a herbivore.
And to the asker, Landlocked, I'm sure most people realise that, although at least in the UK the largest proportion of cows, sheep and cows are reared outdoors, I don't know about the US. Still, I think most people don't particullarly mind.
I think the current conditions of To Market" raised animals is contributing to our(humans) poor health. It affects the quality of the meat being sold to the public.
I'm a firm believer Food as Medicine.
They are perfectly humane. The producers that are raising these animals are making money off of them and if they don't treat the animals humanely, it will cause decreased performance and decreased profits. I'm really sick of all these tree hugging vegetarians trying to tell us we're doing things wrong.
