What does a "vegetarian diet" mean? The term "vegetarian" is really a misnomer, since vegetarians eat more than just vegetables. Vegetarian simply means a plant-based diet. There are several kinds of vegetarian diets, defined by what types of foods are consumed.

* A strict vegetarian, a vegan, avoids all foods of animal origin, including meat, poultry, fish, dairy products, and eggs.
* Lacto-vegetarians include dairy products in their diet. Lacto-ovo- vegetarians also eat dairy products and eggs.
* Pesco-vegetarians eat fish, dairy products, and eggs along with plant foods. (We believe this is the healthiest diet for most people).
* Finally, there are semi-vegetarians, who cheat a little and eat a little poultry along with fish, as well as dairy products and eggs. Most veggie lovers are not strict vegans.

no!

Not really. Your eating meat, you're both, or an omnivore (eats both meat and herbs)

There are different types of vegetarians, yes. Some won't eat eggs or drink milk, some won't eat meat or poultry but will eat fish, etc. There is a variety of vegetarian types.

Meat eater. Some people who only eat chicken and fish call themselves pesco-vegetarians.But I think that if you are eating meat then you can't really be a vegetarian. But I guess some people don't consider fish and chicken meat anymore.Beats me...

I've been called a quasi-vegetarian. Just because I'd prefer not to eat slabs of meat, but little bits are OK sometimes. And I don't care if something's made with meat broth. I hate picking meat chunks out of my food, so if I have the choice I order vegetarian.

I like to call this the "lesbian code of ethics" its for people who are whipped by a social code of ethics and cannot function without putting themself in a group im a "goth" Im a "vegetarian" im a "nerd" the truth is..your not a vegetarian and just like a lot of lesbians you only stay within your narrow grouping when it suites you and drift outside of your ethics as if they where writting in chalk and a thunderstorm has just started

your not a vegetarian...

No, either you are a vegetarian, or you're not. It's like being "a little bit pregnant"

every person on the face of the earth is a "semi-vegetarian" cuz everyone eats veggies sometimes. the term "omnivore" means exactly the same thing, and thats what you are. just like about 90% of the rest of the human race. what you should call yourself is: an omnivore who doesnt eat red meat

You can still consider yourself a vegetarian since there are many types of vegetarian out there such as lacto (who drink milk and still consider themselves a vegetarian) there is a name for people who eat chicken and only vegetable but I'm not too sure about seafood. However you can still consider yourself a vegetarian just another kind.

of course. there are different types of vegetarians. pescetarians eat fish. vegans eat no biproducts of animals. also a lot more that i can't think of.

I think it really depends. I mean, no, you are not a complete vegetarian but if you refuse to eat commercial meat products but you'll eat homegrown/organic fish/chicken I would still consider you vegetarian. To me a vegetarian is a person who refuses meat or certain meat based on moral beliefs. So... call yourself a vegetarian, but maybe clarify what you will eat and why.

Yes, there is such thing. My friend won't eat red meat but she eats chicken and turkey and everything else

vegetrians eat NO FORMS OF FLESH. some say that semi-vegetirans do exist, my oppionion is no. i say that because semi-vegetrian still has the word VEGETRIAN in it and vegetrians EAT NO FORM OF FLESH.

No! Fish and chicken are meat too.
