You could do a project on not only the health benefits of vegetarianism, which are plentiful, but how vegetarianism benefits our environment as well. Here are a few sites to get you started:

GOOD LUCK!
who you callin meat head you veggie weggie? I happen to love meat and would appriciate it if you didn't make fun of us, just because someone else made fun of you. So there, I gave you an answer, and I think that animals were put on this earth to provide us with food. Not some green fluffy root that tastes worse than unseasoned steak.
vegitarian's food can somtimes be really healthy.
getting made fun of for your diet is harsh and unfair. the science fair idea is great.
i just became a vegitarian. :-)
That's a good idea.
This full article is on the link below:
The risk of developing heart disease among meat-eaters is 50 percent higher than that of vegetarians. In fact, researchers have found that the longer and more often people eat meat, the greater their risk of heart disease.
Meat, dairy products, and eggs are completely devoid of fiber and complex carbohydrates, the nutrients that we’re supposed to be consuming more of, and are laden with saturated fat and cholesterol, which make us fat and lethargic in the short term and lead to clogged arteries and heart attacks in the long term.

For fun facts, you could add some celebs who are proud vegetarians from the Sexiest Vegetarians list by PETA

Personally, I'm just happy with being a "meat head", but I respect other peoples choices too.
This site helped me become vegan. Great info!

Rowan,
If you are into vegetarianism and veganism, you should also be into organic farming. Most of them want heirloom vegetables not genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Those would be things like potatoes with their own pesticides, or tomatoes with fish genes.
Try showing an organically grown plant and a chemically grown plant. Show what is happening in the rainforest (clearcutting) because they want to sell cattle for beef. It is a better profit, but only for a year and then they must clear more.
Look and you will find many ways that eating meat is "killing the planet." Unfortunately, I cannot tell you that vegetarians are healthier than meat-eaters. It all depends on the person's diet.
Good luck with your science project!
being a vegetarian makes u healthier, better looking..(wink wink)...and it shows that u have a strong sence of will power.ppl that make fun of u are only iggnorant jerks that will have karma kick them in their..face..lol...i think it was an amazing topic for u 2 pick and now hopefully u let these ppl kno wher eu r coming from and ..hey..u might even change some ppls perspective..make u sure u let them kno wat animals go thru...good luck!!!

How about showing how many resources are needed to make a pound of beef versus a pound of grain?
How about doing a graph showing what veggies/beans have a good amount of protein and compare it to types of meat proteins? For example..Chick peas have 16 grams per 7 oz. serving. Here's a link with some of that info in a chart. Then all you have to do is look up the protein in meat products and compare them to show how much vegetable protein is out there.

See http://goveg.com/ for a compartive chart of human anatomy and herbivoous/onminorous/carnivor... anatomy.
We most closely resemble herbivores.
