Question:

What are the eating habits in finland? can we easily get vegetarian diet there?

Answers:
Things have changed a lot during the past 15 years, but it still depends on where in Finland you will be staying. In every bigger city one can find vegetarian restaurants (and if you cook yourself, then there's naturally no problem at all); even my small town of 50 000 inhabitants has one. You may have to ask where to find one, but there should be no problem. Also all bigger restaurants and restaurant chains (and many of the small independent ones) have some vegetarian foods (not only salads) in the menu. The quality may vary, but it's the same with all foods when you enter an unknown restaurant in a foreign country :)

However, if you're planning to spend lots of time traveling around countryside, you may encounter some difficulties. It would be best to try to ask beforehand from the places where you are staying (or planning to eat) if they have / can prepare for you decent vegetarian food. In big tourist attractions they most probably are prepared (and again, if you are cooking yourself, then it shouldn't be a big deal to find a big enough food stores where you can find everything you need).

I live in Finland.

I spent two days in Finland about 15 years ago and besides salads didn't find much. It was almost as bad a Germany and Eastern block countries.
Hopefully things have changed, but I annoyed a Danish friend (calling this late) and he wasn't very positive about 'the odds' either.

The Finns eat alot of bread, cheese, and fish. There is a wide variety of food, you just have to put in the effort. And I hope you know that beer is vegetarian...
