How long does it take?!
How long does it take?
I am a 23 year old male who has not eaten meat at all in the last 30 days. I now find the idea of eating meat vile and discusting. I have also stoped eating eggs.I do still eat dairy products such as cheese and milk. Do you think I am a vegitarian or is 30 days not sufficent time to be sure?
Answers:
You are a vegetarian if you do not eat any meat ( including fish or poultry ) and do not eat any prodcuts that contain dead animal byproducts either in ingredients or as part of the process
The definition is:
A vegetarian is someone living on a diet of grains, pulses, nuts, seeds, vegetables and fruits with or without the use of dairy products and eggs (preferably free-range).
A vegetarian does not eat any meat, poultry, game, fish, shellfish or crustacea, or slaughter by-products such as gelatine or animal fats.
So, to me, as soon as you follow the above you'll be a veggie by now.
Congratulations. Ignore all the people that say you need to eat meat, you don't. I've been veggie for 26 years and an an arable farmer, full of energy, not "palefaced", and never take suppliments.
You've probably added 15 years to your ife, halved your chance of getting cancer, and contributed to cruelty reduction...nice one !
People like Sherri G are not veggies, go with the proper definition.
you are.
If you really want to remain a true vegatarian, please stp taking eggs, milk, cheese anything of animal ( and human touch)
I'm not sure, but I think I'll stay omnivorous.
I think once you have made the decision to not participate in the consumption of slaughtered animals, you are a vegetarian... whether for 30 days, 30 minutes, or more than 30 years as I have been.
I decided one day--- and never returned to eating meat or fish. I occasionally ate baked stuff with eggs for a little while, and I still eat dairy.
Well, I don't eat red meat and haven't for at least 15 years, but I'm a girl. I eat lots of chicken, mushrooms, black beans(I don't like many others but all beans are high in protein), tofu on occasion (especially when it is fried and served with spicy sauce aka spicy agadashi tofu, medium firm tofu is best for this in my humble opinion). And I haven't had any problems for the most part, sometimes I get a little tired when I forget to eat my proper protein but then I stock up! Being a guy it can be a little different, I would suggest taking some supplements because guys use more protein then ladies do (the protein you loose while being intimate is for the most part equal the the protein you would get in eating a 5 oz steak! I don't tell you this to scare you but to be sure you take care of your health.
Yes you are a vegetarian.
Trust me i am a vegetarian myself...once your mind has completely lost the desire to have meat, eggs etc u r a vegetarian.
Some have the misconception that cheese , milk are non veg. It is wrong .
Cheese , milk and dairy products are vegetarian.
It comes naturally from the cow ...
so have a healthy life!
you are following a vegitarian deit, because most vegitarian eat meat product such as milk, cheese and eggs. but a veagan does not anything period that came from an animal
Your being vegitarian started the minute you decided to stop eating meat. I've always wanted to do that but I never seem to find enough tempting recipes to keep me going. Just make sure you are eating a balanced healthy diet, not just salads and veggies, you still need proteins.
