Do any of you vegetarians feel colder in the winter months?!

Question:

Do any of you vegetarians feel colder in the winter months?

This is my first winter being vegetarian and I'm noticing that I feel quite a bit colder!

Answers:
Well I have been a vegetrian all my life so I do not think I would know the difference...I am always cold in the winter though. Your iron count is probably not as high now because you stopped eating meat which caused you to stop getting heme iron..which caused you to have probably have Iron deficiency anemia. So try to eat things that increase your iron levels
Vitamin C
Protein foods
Citrus fruits and vegetables
You can also go to this website to find out foods that help you correct your iron count also

Good Luck! Congrats on becoming a vegetarian...its a better life for you!!!

Maybe it's a colder winter?

I'm not a vegetarian, and I get cold REALLY easily. However, my roommate 2 years ago was a vegetarian, and she got cold even more easily than I did. So, I guess it is pretty common.

Make sure you have enough iron in your diet. I have an iron deficiency which is part of the cause.

Interesting. I can't ever remember feeling this myself. But I sort of naturally like cold weather so maybe I am not a good example. But I want to congratulate you on being vegetarian. I am very proud of you and would gladly give you a hug to warm you up. :)

Are you eating properly ? Make sure you have enough protein

Nope - if I get cold I put on a sweater. :) I didn't notice any difference the first year I became vegetarian, and haven't for any of the years since. The only thing I have felt is much healthier and happier!

Could it be that the temperatures are lower than last winter?

YES I AM! BUT, I LOVE TO FEEL COLD!!!! I THRIVE IN IT! GET A PARTNER TO WARM YOU UP!!!

EVENTUALLY YOU'LL GET USED TO IT, JUST EAT A LITTLE MORE,MAYBE SOUPS OR PEANUT BUTTER SANDWICHES....STEWS .IF YOU DRINK:BOURBON,VODKA,BLACKJACK,... BE FINE!I APPLAUD YOU ON YOUR NEW EATING LIFESTYLE...

Like my sister Caleema L I have been a vegetarian all my life so I don't know, but I have anemia and sometime I take iron to help that out!!!!

it may be low blood pressure. low blood pressure runs in my family and i get cold easy but now that i'm a vegetrian i'm much more colder then normall.
check up with you doc to see if there is anything serious going on.

luck!

Hi, I haven't really noticed any difference in me being colder than meat eaters in the winter. Maybe it is a harsher winter, or maybe you aren't getting enough of the right vitamins, check your diet carefully and see if you're missing something. Best of luck and try to stay warm!!!!

Not me personally.
