I'm not a vegan or a vegetarian but I have known many.
Some vegetarians may take offense at this, but in my experience very few vegetarians stay vegetarians for more than a few months or a year. Too many it is a fad.
I would also recommend that you take full spectrum vitamins daily, as many vegetarians don't get all that the body needs from their diet.
Plus make sure you eat enough protein (beans, peanut butter, etc.) as this is also a common problem with many vegetarian diets.
The human body can thrive on a vegetarian diet, but you need to closely watch what you eat, as the human body wasn't designed to be exclusively vegetarian.
I'm a carnivore
yes i have been for 8 years , my husband and my 7 year old daughter are too. Be proud of your ethical choice. I am a little concern about peer pressure for my daughter when she gets older because it would be a real shame being born a vegan, who is never had an ear infection or any other common ailments that most children have, and let's not forget all the animals that she has speared, and for her to give into that peer pressure would be devastating for us all mostly herself. Good luck to you.
Given that I had a pound of bacon (with maple syrup) for breakfast today, I'm guessing that I'm not.
I hesitate at calling myself vegan but I'm a strict vegetarian. I don't eat meat, fish, eggs or milk. I do eat honey though so I don't think I'm technically what you'd call a vegan, anyway what's in a name. I love being veggie and I'm raising my 5 year old son as a vegetarian (I do give him eggs though as he's autistic and extremely picky). I feel lighter and happier than I ever did when I ate meat. What amazes me is how much ignorant there still is about vegetarianism when the facts can be plainly researched by anyone.
Anyway good on you being vegan!
how cann you be vegan/vegi. your either one or the other
I am!
P.S. I'll most likely be e-mailing you sometime soon. I have an idea i would like your input on.
No, but i am a vegetarian
Nope.
I am a vegan and have been for two years (two years vegetarian before that). I did it because I wanted to be heathier. I learned how to cook many other foods that I would have never had known about. And it is funny how every year the stuff I now eat is a new wonder food to help your health for omnivores. Then after awhile I saw the videos of animals being killed, and now I feel really good about what I was doing not only for me, but for the whole planet.
No,because I eat meat.
Yes,I'm vegan.I made the choice to become vegan one day about four years ago.I did it because I don't like the idea of a dead animal on my plate and I don't feel the need to eat dairy.I also like synthetic leather shoes for skateboarding and I don't want to be washing my hair or face with animal by-products.I want to KNOW what I am eating also,so I stay away from processed foods because they contain so many hidden animal ingredients. Not only that but there are countless benefits,I'm healthier,I'm even more fit than I was previously and i don't have to feel guilty when I am eating because i'm not eating a dead carcass.
