A good Vegetarian/vegan alternative to Cod Liver Oil?!

Question:

A good Vegetarian/vegan alternative to Cod Liver Oil?

I know the benefits of fish oil for joints is beneficial - but I can't bear the thought of swallowing Fish Oil!

Answers:
Sainsburys do a great multi omega oil (3,6 &9) in their healthy section. you can just take a tablespoon a day (tastes nutty) or sprinkle it on salad. Research shows that we are too obsessed with omega three and actually need a balnce of all three oils for optimum benefit. Also with this oil you get only oil without all the nasties in capsules. Happy health.

I think flax seed oil works in a similar way

flax seed is a good alternative.

A cup of vegetable oil :-)

At the health food place up the street from me, Grape Seed Oil is the new hotness. Supposed to be good for almost everything.

Here are some good vegan sources for essential omega-3 fatty acids:

walnuts
olive & canola oils
dark leafy greens
freshwater micro algae
flaxseed

Use the following vegetable oils for essential omega-6 fatty acids:

corn oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil, cottonseed oil

Flax and hemp seed oils are excellent sources of your Omega-3 and Omega 6 polyunsaturated fats. I wouldn't want to eat fish oil either!

Flax Seed Oil plus Linseed Oil are good alternatives

Flaxseed oil. I suggest capsules. You can buy bottled flaxseed oil but it is very bitter and gross. It looks like olive oil so one day I used some in a salad dressing. BLEAGH!

Hi this oil was recommended by my naturopath:
