A homemade substitute for hamburgers, if you ever have a veggie at a party or barbeque. Good, even without bun!

1.Throw all ingredients in food processor (or blender, if you dont have one).
2.Pulse (or blend) until coarsely chopped.
3.Chill mixture, then shape into four (4) 1/2-inch thick patties.
Now you can wrap and freeze them for later.
4.To cook, thaw patties in microwave, then broil 4-6 inches from heat for 10 to 15 minutes (or until warm in the middle).
You can do this in your broiler or on the grill.
6.Serve like you do your favorite meat patties!

Mostly tofu from what I hear or soy,but the fake meats aint half bad,the other day they were giving samples out of veggie chicken nuggets at the grocery store and they tasted like the real thing

some like "boca burger" use soy protein. some like "gardenburger" or "morningstar" use vegetables. i like the soy burgers better because the others tend to fall apart in the bun since they are only vegetables pressed together.

Mostly soy and vegetables. Some brands use egg whites as binder, so if you don't want that check the ingredients. You can make burgers out of anything you can think of.

Morning Star Farms makes an excellent soy based burger. They call it textured protein. Soy bean meal and spices, most super Walmarts and even some grociery stores carrry these products.

Normally mushrooms, carrots, broccolli, potatoes, and zucchini

If you want something to taste like the real thing, eat the real thing.

Depends on the burger. Some are made with soy others are made with oatmeal and veggies.

Warning: Not everything that is sold in a restaurant as a "Veggie burger" is actually a vegetarian burger... at some places if you order a "veggie burger" they will give you a hamburger with a bunch of vegetables on it.

Actual vegetarian burgers can be made of any number of things, the most common base ingredients being soybeans, black beans, wheat gluten, mushrooms, and chickpeas.

Some are made with veggies and some are made with soy.
