Answers:
Tofu is great because it has no flavor itself, it takes on the flavor of whatever seasoning you cook it in. You can cut the tofu in small cubes and stir fry with soy sauce or hoisin sauce or whatever you like to stir fry with. Makes a good substitute for chicken.

with some veggies like stir fry, its awesome like that

stirfry!

Depends on what you are planning to do with it. My favorite way to fix tofu is to cut it in to inch to half inch cubes then stir fry it seperately from what ever dish I am going to add it to with a little garlic or seasoning until it is lightly browned on the edges, then I will start to cook my veggies and when they are almost done I add the tofu back to the dish. This will keep the texture of the tofu firm and not soggy.

Save yourself the hassle, just throw it in the toilet!

Tofu does have some flavour lthough a lot depends on the type you have. There is generally Silken Tofu and Firm Tofu:

Firm tofu - cube it and toss it into stir fries or slice it, marinate it and fry it or even slice it crumb it and fry it.

Silken tofu - you can whip it up with fruit/juice/milk etc and make it into a ort of tofu shake, cube it into a stir fry [it tends to break up a bit] or put it in a hot vegetable broth or japanese miso soup.

I like to stirfry it with spices, baby bok choy and hot peppers. Then add tamari soy sauce and serve over rice.

Or marinate and bake it.

Or even serve it Italian style with spicy tomato sauce and cheese. Surprisingly good.

Cut it into cubes and stir fry in with apricots - you will be surprised

Fried tofu is my Fav ! Before u fried the tofu marinade with garlic , salt and coriander powder. And then after 15-30 minutes u can fried the tofu. Delicious .....

Deep fry tofu cut into small cube pieces (say 6 pieces to an 8 ounce block). Firm tofu is the best for this. Fry until golden brown and then flavor with any sauce you like, saute, toss and serve. You cannot go wrong!

One of the easiest way I cook tofu is to cut them in medium/Small cubes. You saute them in a bit of oil under they are golden and crispy and then you add your favorite BBQ sauce and stir it. Serve it with Veggies and rice.

You can again cube them, fry them adding a bit of spike seasoning and soya sauce. Then add them to your salad and serve with your favorite dressing.

Another way is to cube them very small, saute them a bit and make a fried rice dish with it.

You can cut them in stripes. Empty a box of shake and bake in a zip lock bag. Dunk the tofu stripes in some oil both sides. Then put them in the bag, zip it and give it a good shake. Once they are nicely coated you can either bake them or fry them. This dish is called tofu fingers!

There are variety of ways to cook tofu. It also depends on what kind of tofu you are buying. There is anywhere from, silken, soft, firm, and extra firm.

Silken is often eaten as a dessert due to it's soft texture. Sometimes, salty pickles or hot sauces are added to it.
For instance, the chinese dish called mapa tofu.

Silken and soft are actually quite similair due to their soft textures.

Firm and extra firm are great for stews, salads, and stir-frying.
Tofu should be cut into cubes, not too small or not too big.
If you are planning to add tofu in your stew, than put it as the last item.
If you are planning to add it to your salad, you can just microwave the cubed tofu for about 1 minute, by depending on the quantity.
Stir-frying is a sinch. Just place oil on the pan, set it on medium, place the tofu on the pan, and flip it over after you see a light brown color to it.

There are just so many recipes on making scrumptious tofu dishes.

My favorite way is to get the extra firm (not silken) kind and freeze it for a few days. Freezing it gives it a chewier texture. Defrost it in the package in the refrigerator or sink full of lukewarm water. When it's fully defrosted, give it a good squeeze as it will be like a sponge. The more water you get out, the better it will taste. I then slice it and press it between two towels with some heavy books on top for around 30 minutes. You can skip that step, but I think it helps. You can then stir fry it with veggies or even batter it and fry it in a little oil. It will taste a lot like fried chicken.

Firm silken tofu is good mixed with spices and nutritional yeast and used in place of ricotta cheese in lasagna-type recipes. Check out websites like theppk.com and vegweb.com for some yummy recipes. Vegweb has a chocolate tofu pie that is to die for.

Good luck.

First you should know that you can prepare tofu the same way you can prepare chicken or beef. That having been said, you could start with something very simple like a stir-fry. Cut the tofu up in little blocks, then add it to a skillet with pre-made rice or noodles, vegetables, and any sauce you like (like terryaki).

Another one I like is tofu parmesian. I cut the tofu into thin slabs then bread them (try the pre-made Italian bread crumbs). Then I fry them on medium heat for a couple of minutes on both sides. Then, using a jar of pasta sauce, spread a little on the bottom of a pan, place the breaded tofu on top, then put the rest of the sauce on top. Bake on 350 for about 15 minutes. Sprinkle some shredded parmesian on top and bake until it melts.
