Do we need a meat eaters category?!
Do we need a meat eaters category?
Maybe all the veggie haters who seem responsible for the majority of posts on here are feeling left out and they'd leave us alone if there was a category for those who liked eating dead animals.
Answers:
I agree with you. I am a "meat-eater" but I find the veggie/vegan lifestyle fascinating. I don't look these questions up to harass people. I respect every ones opinion and even though I don't agree doesn't mean I should harass anyone. It goes for anything food, religion, politics...we should all be adult and try to have respectful and helpful comments. Maybe they should make a meat section where all the sarcastic and rude people can go and make fun of each other! I'm sure there would be a lot more to work with there.
bring it on with a well done sirloin steak
yeah, it's called a carnivore.
I'm down for it!...love to see some people who aren't stuck believing they are better than everyone else because of their eating habits.
i'll eat an animal and i'll eat a veggie,
cant well all just get along?? boo hoo!!!
MMMMMMM...... DEAD ANIMALS
Attack is always the very best form of defense!!
Yea then maybe all super sensitive vegans can have some new category to go off about?
PS: I'd rather eat dead animals than munch on leaves like a goat
"for those who liked eating dead animals"?
Now who's being attacking rather than defensive? That's like us normal people saying we need to rename the Vegetarian & Vegan category into "Wierd Food Freaks".
Get over the fact that you're in a tiny tiny minority because of your beliefs, and please keep those beliefs to yourselves, as the one thing no one wants to have is someone else's beliefs rammed down their throat.
What really pisses me off is that vegetarians expect to be "catered for" wherever they go (like if one came over mine for dinner), yet if I came round to your place for dinner I'd expect you to put me on a nice juicy steak. How can that be anything but fair?
[Edit]
Just to clarify following Rachel's answer, I was saying it seems customary for people who eat meat to feel obliged to cater for vegetarians, but for some reason not the other way round, as it starts infringing vegetarian's beliefs? What about a non-vegetarian's beliefs or lifestyle preferences? All I was trying to point out is that the whole thing needs to be balanced and equal not one sided as here in the UK it seems to be. Maybe things are different elsewhere. That's all, no offence meant.
I doubt a separate category would help. Some people like to use the anonymity here to abuse people. That goes for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike.
And to the guy who complained about having a vegetarian over for dinner. If you invite someone over to dinner, you should accommodate their special needs and tastes. If a guest couldn't eat pork for religious reasons, you should accommodate them. Religion is a matter of choice too and to many vegetarians, it is a moral reason for them not eating meat. I'm not saying that you should serve two separate meals or a total vegetarian one. Just make sure that there's plenty of vegetables and bread to satisfy all your guests. If you don't agree, then don't invite a vegetarian over. It's that simple. I don't serve tofu to my meat-eating friends if it's not something they like. I try to serve something that will satisy their taste and not compromise my beliefs. It can be done. I don't expect everyone to agree with my diet choice, but I don't expect them to ridicule me for it either. However, if a vegetarian starts with an attack, he/she should not be surprised when others attack back.
Actually, It should be an Omnivore category, almost no one eats meat exclusively. Humans are an omnivorous species, possessing features of both carnivores and herbivores.
Some refrain from eating meat for a variety of reasons, I don't have any problem with that.
Yes. Thats a great idea. There needs to be a seperate section for people who lack compassion and only care about themselves.
We can call it the Bush voting, SUV driving and Screw other lives section.
Nah. We just need to laugh at them as they die from colon cancer.
Even if they had their own category, they'd still keep coming back here, because they can't resist attacking V&Vs, for some unfathomable reason.
Athene, I have reported you for using Yahoo! Answers to transmit hate speech. I will also forward this question to an internet watchdog group.
Whoosher, what is your problem with people who eat meat? I am getting sick and tired of reading your hate filled answers. If you want to meet me in person to discuss this issue I have no problem with that. You just talk all big and brave because it is online. We will see how brave you are when you meet me face to face.
As a near life-long vegetarian, it is plainly obvious to me that the ENTIRE FREAKING world is a meat-eaters category.
I am not above tweaking carnivores or vegetarians about their prideful dietary habits, but the point earlier made about this question being an example of passive-agressiveness was well put.
I think that's called the rest of the "Food and Drink" category. The problem is that we've got a few extremists on both sides of the issue, and they enjoy harassing the other side.
Personally, I don't care who eats what or why. But if someone wants my respect, then they need to respect me. That includes not coming to a forum for vegetarians and vegans, then doing your d@mnedest to annoy, harass, and otherwise be a pain to those who have real questions.
If you are what you eat, then some people act like they eat a lot of horsemeat. Or at least the back half of the horse, anyway.
4 children I have had in this short lifetime. Each one of them has been stolen from me.. The regular irritation of plastic tubes against my udder has resulted in sickness and infection on many occasions.. My teats are constantly sore.. Inside I have stomach pains. I feel old although I have only experienced 6 summers.. My milk has run dry, and now, after having been driven for several hours in a hot and badly ventilated vehicle, together with many of my sisters, I stand inside a big white building that reeks of fear and death.. One of my sisters fainted during the journey, and I watched with horror as a human beat her to regain consciousness, and force her to stand up and move.. I have also been beaten with a metal rod, and have a damaged hind leg. I am barely able to stand erect.. I am afraid.. I know what is happening here.. My intelligence is enough to realise.. I can see the stains on the floor.. and on the aprons of the humans.. I can hear distant sisters calling out in such frighteningly horrible manners in neighbouring rooms.. I have never heard such intense distressful cries.. Terrible.. I stand terrified and await my fate in dread..
FAST - not Feast.
FRUIT - not Flesh.
FIG - not Fish.
FRESH - not Fowl.
A far more grisly greasy fact is that those at the other extreme, that eat the flesh of others daily, do not only put themselves at risk. Indeed, given let's say, a below average lifespan of 60 years, it is quite (un)reasonable that a human flesh-eater might in that span of time, devour the equivalent of something like 800 chicken carcasses, 20 cows, 70 pigs, 70 sheep, possibly 1000s of fish, and countless other animals.. Let's say a good conservatively estimated 3000 individuals in your stomach!! What a graveyard! R.I.P !!

yeah,so we can go to that section and harass them in their section.
lol well you did seem to make a few people mad did'nt you.. i like meat and it my favorite thing .. nothing wrong with be a veggie person though..it is a choice of what you like and we should not try to make others what we are
good idea, we could discuss a variety of delectable ways to cook our animal corpse. you're the first vegetarian on here to make any sense
