I don't know anything about being vegan, please educate me. Recipes?

I have 2 vegan co-workers and I'd like to be sensitive to their diets when bringing goodies to work (potluck etc.) what are some easy foods or recipes that will please BOTH meat eaters and vegans?

Visit www.vegweb.com. Look for the recipes that are labeled Vegan. Most things here will please both groups and people can rate recipes on this site so that should give you a better idea if people will like them or not.

u can bake cookies/cakes without eggs or milk, or u can use soya milk.

First, let me point out that being a vegetarian is not about the foods you eat but the discipline required to be one. yes, we tend to eat more plant matter than animal, but when we become relaxed to the point where we develop hypoglycemia (Type III Diabetes) and linger for days without any food whatsoever. Being a vegan is a serious matter, and because of that, we do wish to respect the needs of one. For one, you should remind yourself that the reasons for such a diet are serious and we need to take care of ourselves. By using these simple techniques, hopefully you will not feel appraisive about your own food options.

(@)Cut down on the meat content or use a healthier version of the ones you bring from home. Vegans love to explore foods.
(@)Sometimes you would have a dish that is compatable with their needs. Such will add comfort to a vegan.
(@)When preparing a meal to take with you the next day, make sure the food is still edible, for vegans tend to eat fresh foods.
(@)Do not hesistate to bring a fast-food item. Fast foods are microbiotic, meaning they are good only once, and all diets are based upon consistiency with the digestive system..
(@)Chechk with your physician before considreing your options. The diet of a vegan or vegetarian is for that person alone. You do not need to modify your own needs for that of another.

In short, the vegetarian diet belongs only to the vegetarian. Since I am a microbiotic vegetarian, what I eat is between me and my stomach, and if someone says I am not a vegetarian, I would just respond, "Do you think I can live on junk foods all my life?" When it comes to a healthy diet, I favor the vegan over the candy.
