Healthy vegetarian diet?!

Question:

Healthy vegetarian diet?

I was diagnosed in October with Breast Cancer, and am interested in a vegetarian diet, mostly to avoid hormones and preservatives. I want to make the change for health reasons, but am completely overwhelmed on where to start. Help?

Hello. I am sorry to read about your diagnosis. I wish you the very best, and I hope that your cancer will be in remission. Do not give up!

For many vegetarian, and vegan receipes, go to Culinary Chef at http://www.culinarychef.com You can even share your own recipes there.

Good luck, stay strong, and speedy recovery! You can do it!

Start by buying what i call The vegetarian bible.

It talks about every aspect of vegetarianism. From the social aspect to the dissection of every nutritional mineral and vitamin!

See my link ~ and good luck ~ I hope you beat it!

I'm sorry to hear that. Best wishes for your recovery.

I know of several people who have recovered from cancer through following a healthy well balanced vegan diet. For info on veganism please check out www.vegansociety.com

Good luck and stay strong.

Good for you for taking your health into your own hands. There are a great many wonderful vegetarian cookbooks out there for you to choose from. I would check out "Vegan With A Vengence", "The Farm Vegetarian Cookbook", "The Greens Cookbook", and "The Enchanted Broccoli Forest". All of these are easy and comprehensive. I wish you the very best of luck in your healing.

You may find this website of use : htp://www.recipesforvegans.co.... as it has some articles about nutrtion and lots of recipes

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis, eating a vegetarian diet is a lot more than just not eating meat, you have to plan your meals a little more than normally but i think you'll find great success if you just experiment a little. There are a number of good websites just google vegetarian diets, or there are a number of good cookbooks: anything by Molly Katzen is good. Also, it's not really a cookbook but Peter Singer's book called The Way We Eat has a lot of information about eating organic foods and vegetarian information. Good Luck.
