Should there be more vegetarians in the world?!

Question:

Should there be more vegetarians in the world?

Answers:
Yes! People would be healthier, not as many animals would be slaughtered, and the environment would be better!

Woo! Let's do it! lol.

Well, unless you're looking for more people to interact with who are also vegetarian, or want more restaurants to be veggie friendly, which could happen if there were more vegetarians around, why would you want more people to be vegetarian? Just asking.

Not only in the world,in Texas shoul be more. Some people believe that deep fry okra is a good vegetable and very Heathy.

Well yes and no.....

yes, then maybe there will be less heart disease and lower cholesterol problems

of coarse...i think for most ppl it's just hard because its what theyve always known and its become an addiction. That and the fact that its only human to want to eat meat, its that primal instinct in all of us.

We can just do what we can to try to open peoples eyes .

Yes.

yes

Of course, then I can eat more of their share of chicken, beef, and pork.....lol.

yes of course.

there's no universal concerning that but of course we need to maintain balance of being herbivores and carnivores

yes of course then there'd be many animals saved but on the other hand more plants would be used up. If there were more vegetarians then there'd be more vegetarian restaurants.
Have to walk by quite a few restaurants smelling the annoying meat odors before getting
to a vegetarian restaurant. Sometimes I settle
for going into Chinese restaurant.. They usually
have some Vegetarian food. At a Wendy's
I had a Salad instead of a Hamburger in a Combo Meal! Well they advertised Eat The Way U Like! Some people behind me saw what I did and they copied I bet they were vegetarians too! if they had been meat eaters
they probably would've said something rude to me. They only smiled!

Well, 'should' might not be the right word, but it certainly wouldn't do the world any harm.

Yes, if the whole world ate a plant based diet there would be enough for the world to eat.

Production of food for a meat based diet takes up SEVEN TIMES more land than that for a plant-based diet.

It also takes up WAY more water. You save more water not eating 1 pound of beef than you do not showering for an entire YEAR.

Additionally, people would be far healthier. Nearly all cancers could be prevented by simply not eating animal proteins & fats. Also heart disease (the leading cause of death in the western world) would be nearly non-existant.

We're herbivores.

So yes. There should be.

If only. But people are .... people (read: selfish, hedonistic, apathetic, arrogant, proprietous).

Goody2shoes2: you said more plants would be wasted but I think there'd be less wasted because we wouldn't have to feed so much to fatten the animals that we breed for food.

No I think it would help if there were more intelligent people on this earth though.

ABSOLUTELY.
more vegetarians= less cruelty
=)

HELL YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
