Why do meat eaters love offending vegetarians?!

Question:

Why do meat eaters love offending vegetarians?

I am not referring to simply eating meat in the presence of a vegetarian, but going out of their way to make sure the vegetarian knows they have no remorse, love their meat and would never stop, or whatever.

vegetaraisam, is a cult that needs to be preached against

its sooooo fun meat!!!!!!!! meat!!!!!! meat!!!!

I dunno. All I know is that vegetarians taste better....

*coughs*

in certain places.

it is the bully instinct

I think they feel threated.
Anyway, this is America. We only like you if you are just like us.

I think some people just simply don't have any tact.

Shame on them.

probably because vegetarians like to look at meateaters in disgust when they watch them eating meat.

Well I can definitely tell you are a vegetarian ;) Seriously though, isn't your question a little prejudiced? Not all us meat eaters do that (I've got better things to do than something childish like that)

vegitarians r like anorexic ppl cuz they are like well....idk but yah

Cause vegetarians are weaklings even though they say they are not.

That's a pretty general stereotype. I eat meat and don't offend vegetarians. Why should someone have to defend what they eat? Why should I show remorse for eating a burger.

What about the poor vegetables? They have feelings, too.

Besides, if we stopped eating meat, we'd starve to death.

For some I don't think that it is going out of there way...meat eaters don't think about it really meat is something they enjoy and not being vegetarians don't really understand how it is offensive to others and as for the showing no remorse most feel that the animals were put here for that purpose so there is nothing for them to feel sorry for...just a thought

Im not a vegetarian but sometimes i do feel weird if Im cooking chicken and blood comes out. I can understand why they don't eat it, so no need to offend : )

If only a Lion could talk!!
Perhaps that would explain it.

it is just because they hate healthy vegetables.

Maybe they feel as if they are doing something wrong by eating meat! Maybe deep inside their inner body knows the right way and are just to weak and conditioned to change so they are protecting their comfort zone. It is a good question though.

I'm not pointing finger but I think that in general meat eates feel like vegatarians think they are more moral than meat eaters so they neet to prove that it isn't anything to be proud of and then the vegatarian is'nt better than the meat eater

I'm sorry, as a meat eater I am tired of being lectured by self rightous vegetarians (of course I don't mean you) about my personal eating preferences.

My point is, it can go both ways. I know how some meat eaters behave, my brother is a perfect example of the rude type that you've described. However I also know lots of vegetarians, and a number of them love to describe how animals are slaughtered when I order a burger.

I don't know why people in general like to be rude. It's a mystery.

I wouldn't lump everyone into the same catagory.

I personally don't, and in fact I always try to make sure there are vegetarian choices at the restaurants I go to with my friends. I make sure there is enough for them to eat.

I like meat but I don't love it and make a spectacle out of myself when I eat it. that would be stupid.

not to stereotype but most vegetarians are very annoying and go out of their way to advocate their meat free lifestyle (not all but most) some will even try to send us meat loving carnavores on guilt trips (i.e. "meat is murder", etc) after a while we meat eaters get tired of this.

They're trying to change the minds of vegetarians.

b/c vegitarians cant get all the nutrients like a meat-eater can duh

You made your choice, so let others make their own choices.

See, I get the other way around. I'm with a vegetarian at a family restaurant; they order a salad or whatever vegetarian options are on the menu, I order something like salisbury steak. I then get treated to a diatribe of how the animals are treated, what that stuff can do to my body, and do I know what they do to that stuff once it's been processed? Why would I want to do that to myself?

And the whole time I'm thinking, "Why do I have to defend how I eat to you? Yes, I know what eating too much red meat can do to my body. And no, I didn't know what they did to the animals; I do now. Thank you for ruining my enjoyment of my dinner and my dinner company. It's been a swell evening."

I have no remorse for eating meat. I enjoy it. I'm not going to shove that enjoyment down someone else's throat, but I'd also appreciate not being guilt-tripped whenever I eat with someone who has a different dietary lifestyle than I do.

i don't do that and my best friend is a vegetarian and she doesn't care if i eat a live cow in front of her as long as i wash my hands and face after i eat it. lol

Vegetarians taste better? Huh?

i've heard of openminded, intelligent meat eaters lol. but there's always that jerk that doesn't like people who aren't carbon copies of them. unfortunately, it's easier to remember the jerks.
i will say i've met some pretty aggressive vegetarians (usually noobs lol). and they were pushy enough for me to say something to them, even though i'm a vegetarian as well lol.
there's closemindedness on all sides.

I htink you are over reacting. I am a meat eater and I have never went out of my way to pick ona a vegiterian. I wouldnt tell anyone what to do or what to eat and would expect the same from them. If you want eggplant parmesian, great! But I will have the chicken parmesian b/c I want it, not to affend you.

because they dont know what they are missing!!!!!!
