Why is bread only sold in 400g or 800g? Why can't I buy a 700g loaf?

Why, if you want a 700g loaf, can i have a 547g loaf ?

Someone has to make a stance and chose a weight.

Can't understand why you can't see this, are there more details we need to know

Buy 2 400g loaves and remove 1/4 of one of them. Or slice off 1/8 of a 800g loaf. I'm with the other answerer. What is the dilemna?

Those are the standard pan sizes for loaf bread that are available (8 1/2 or 9 inch pans). There would have to be enough demand for the slight smaller large loaf to spur production of different pans sizes.
