Who here is used to Asparagus out of the can, not fresh (we like it limp?)?!

Question:

Who here is used to Asparagus out of the can, not fresh (we like it limp?)?

hahaha. I am just wondering who else likes and prefers asparagus out of the can, all limpy and such, vs fresh asapargus, which is more firm.
What's wrong with me? Anyone know?

Answers:
I am so with you on that!!! I could eat that stuff right out of the can!!!! I would prefer canned over the fresh anyday!!!!

I always thought I was alone on that!!!!
Thumbs up to us different people!!!
Thumbs down to you that don't like canned food!!!! It's cheaper and easier!!!!

Gross.

I grew up eating fresh vegetables, So anything canned is disgusting to me.

I never even heard of that. Ewwww.

I've used canned before during the winter when it is very expensive to buy out of season however I wasn't thrilled with it.
Nothing like fresh asparagus and you can cook it until it is very soft if you wish.Just steam it awhile longer or microwave till it's how you like it.
Much better for you also.

Bleh! Canned veggies are loaded with sodium and have 1/2 the nutrients of fresh! I know what you mean though - when I was little I refused to eat the fresh stuff - I had to have canned!! Now it's just the opposite! The best way to eat fresh for you, would be to just simmer your fresh asparagus in a little water until it's the tenderness you like it...you don't have to leave it firm! I know, because on occasion, I have overcooked mine and it ends up tasting like canned!...kinda!...it's still gonna be better for you fresh than canned! Try it!
