Why is chocolate addictive?
GCSE Coursework
Answers:
It releases endorphines into your bloodstream. Endorphines give you a sense of joy or happiness, or generally contentment.
I doubt any teacher would ask you to talk about chocolate for a piece of GCSE coursework
chocolate contains a chemical that is actually addictive, check it out on google.
Chocolate isn't addictive, but SUGAR is.
because it is sweet
Because it's good for you, just ask Harry Potter or Willie Wonka. Tastes good AND has anti-oxidants to help your immune system.

Some people have a tendency to burn Sugar and lose weight while others do not. Sugar burners are addicted to Sugar whereas others are not that have to workout and burn fat off the normal way.
If you love sugar you are probably a sugar burner.
there is a chemical is chocolate that people crave!
Chocolate affects hormone levels in the brain, like serotonin, which increases the feeling of pleasure, and dopamine, the same chemical that gets released when a person's on a high.
Because it is so full of sugar and sweet and just yummy. lol
it releases a certain hormone (not sure which), and this makes you feel good. and it tastes nice!
think it's something to do with chocolate releasing seratonin into the brain. don't think it's actually addictivethough. don't really know just fancied having a stab.
They only say its addictive cos it releases endorphines which make you feel good so when your down wat do ya do ... you buy choccy cos its makes ya feel good then before ya know it...you have put on loads of weight which you try to lose and end up spending loads on weight lose stuff phew.. then when u lost the weight wat do ya do... treat ur self to a bar o choccy lol... Clever people them who invented choccy and weight lose products
It is addictive because it is designed to be addictive. Each company tries the hardest to create the best tasting chocolate. Also for some reason people have a thing for caffeine.
The chemical within it known as MSG (monosodoium guicamide or however you spell it) gives you a little high then gets you right back down again.
There are over 300 chemicals in chocolate which could explain this. One is a small amount of caffeine, which is a pick me up. Another is called phenylethylamine (fenny-lethy-la-meen) which has been proven to raise blood pressure and heart rate. It's possible it gives us the "high" that some chocolate gives us.
Also important are the taste, smell and texture...chocolate is a nice treat and that's probably why so many people claim they are "addicted"...they are not, they just enjoy the nice treat of chocolate.
Hope this helps!!
its not just some people have a taste for it and some people crave it too lol like me sometimes but the suger in it can me ! hope i could help
Chocolate causes the brain to release Endorphins which is a feel good chemical.
Bananas also have a similar effect, but is more healthy in larger quantities, bad sadly not calorie wise.
