i live in NC, and a friend wants to try goat meat. is it illegal to kill a goat and eat it?

No, not in Ohio anyway, people up here raise goats strictly for that purpose. They usually sell them where there are large Muslim populations. In other words Muslims eat a lot of goat meat. But I've never ate any myself.

It is definatly not illegal to eat goat meat. Usually you would buy a goat and take it to a butcher but in some cases people butcher their own.
There is thousands of recipes on the web for goat meat as well and several places you can purchase and order pre packaged goat meat or you could contact a local goat farm
