How long can meat be frozen before it goes bad?!

Question:

How long can meat be frozen before it goes bad?

Answers:
That depends on the 'temperature' of the freezer, and the 'wrapping' on the meat. If you wrap your meat in 'wax paper' and then cover it well with foil and put it into your refrigerator's freezer, it will be 'good to eat' for up to four months. If you put it into a 'freezer' not attached to a fridge, it will be good for up to six months. If you put it into a 'ten degree box' that is DRY frozen, it will last 'indefinitely.'

That all depends on what type of meat and how it is kept in the freezer. You put a steak packaged from Jewel or Dominicks it may last a month or two, you leave it a Ziplock bag it may not even last that long, but if you vaccum pack it, well then it should last at least a years or so before you get the freezer burns.

i would say, it's all about how you freeze it to begin with, and what condition the meat was in, before you froze it. fresh meat, you can free, by putting in an airtight container, just don't let it get freezer burn or brown spot from exposer.

plus once you thaw it out, you definetly cannot freeze it again, it's not good for the quality of the meat.

3 months at 18 degrees.

If it is vacuum sealed, generally beef will be fine if used within one year. Chicken and pork should be used within 6 months. Fish ought to be used within 2-3 months. If not vacuum sealed the time frames may be a little long, so check for freezer burn.

The general rule is no longer than 3 months.
