Answers:
YES, purple stinky urine is a very good thing.

I eat a lot of asparagus, but I have never faced a problem like this. Perhaps you should consult a urologist.

ure disgusting.

Asparagus is a natural diaretic and helps in cleansing all of the toxins out of you. This may attribute to the smell you're smelling, espcially if you don't drink a lot of water.

Purple urine sounds a bit odd, I can't help you with that one. If it only happens with Asparagus though then it must be related.

Happy eating.

Asparagus is filled with sulfur-containing amino acids that break down during digestion into six sulfur-containing compounds. These can impart a unique smell to urine as they are excreted. "It's the same sulfur group that makes skunks smell. Only about 50 percent of the people have the gene that causes the smell. As far as the purplish color goes, I have never noticed that when I eat asparagus. I know if you eat a lot of beets, it will turn your urine slightly purple but have never heard of asparagus doing it.

Asparagus contains a sulfur compound called mercaptan. (It's also found in rotten eggs, onions, garlic, and in the secretions of skunks.) When your digestive tract breaks down this substance, by-products are released that cause the funny scent. The process is so quick that your urine can develop the distinctive smell within 15 to 30 minutes of eating asparagus.....

yeah.. i love asparugus but dont recall anu of this ever happening to me! try talking to your doctor about it! good luck!

I always heard it was something about genes. Some people have the stinky gene, and some don't. I don't have it, but my husband does. Ooof! I wouldn't worry. It's like 50/50 who has it and who doesn't.
