Dinners for the week?!

Question:

Dinners for the week?

I am trying to make a weekly dinner list but I can't think of dinners to make! My mom never really cooked for me growing up so I am pretty clueless on good dinner ideas.

Can you give me some ideas? No need for recipes, I can look them up.....Thank you!!!!!!

Look up some Casseroles and get a crock pot, you can cook a lot of stuff in the crock pot and it is easy.
Casseroles are very feeling, quick and easy to make and most of them go good w/ just a salad.

When you go to the grocers, purchase one or two of each meat...chicken, beef, and pork. Also, a Pound of ground beef and whatever fish you like.
1. baked chicken with potatoes/salad
2. pot roast/gravy/rice/side veggie
3. fried pork chops smothered in onions/buttered noodles/salad
4. spaghetti with meat sauce/garlic bread/salad
5. broiled fish with lemon butter sauce/rice pilaf/veggie
6. left over pot roast cut into bite-size pieces with sauteed green peppers, onions on hoagie buns
7. cold pasta salad of any type

my menu from the past week is as follows:

monday -
grilled pork chops (marinated in italian dressing)
sundried tomato & basil cous cous
peas (from the freezer section... or fresh!) with lemon & olive oil

tuesday -
teriyaki pork tenderloin
long grain & wild rice (we love the uncle ben's boxes)
corn on the cob

wednesday -
chicken & cheese enchiladas
side salads with taco cheese & salsa ranch dressing

thursday -
chicken (chunk) parmesan (we like to bread and bake the chicken in smaller pieces for portion control...)
angel hair pasta or spaghettini with tomato sauce
caesar salad

friday -
grilled salmon with apricot teriyaki glaze
long grain & wild rice (thank god for uncle ben!)
steamed broccoli

saturday -
italian cheeseburgers (italian sausage patties with mozzarella & marinara...mmm...)
fries (from the freezer section) with italian seasoning and garlic salt
side salads with italian dressing

sunday -
40 cloves of garlic chicken
baked sweet potatoes
michigan salads topped with toasted almonds and dried cranberries

hope this helps!

p.s. i usually make a couple of desserts a week too; lately it's been fresh berries on the menu!

low-fat vanilla yogurt with raspberries & blackberries (served in a martini glass, makes it look so elegant!)

strawberry shortcake (so simple to make, and such a great comfort food!)

Wraps or pockets are always an easy way to go.

Grilled chicken, pita, hummus and veggies.

Grilled or sauteed Shrimp with salsa, lettuce and avocado in a tortilla.

Cheese quesadillas - 2 tortillas, great cheddar cheese and add in sauteed vegetables (onions, bell peppers and mushrooms)

It's difficult to give ideas as I make up my recipes myself! If you can't find a recipe for any of the following just email me.

Slow cooker/crock pot: Pot roast; pork spareribs; Italian sausage in marinara

One dish casseroles: Tuna/noodle casserole; Baked mostaccioli(any pasta but spaghetti will work); chicken and rice with peas- I use golden mushroom soup half diluted to pour over the cooked rice and raw chicken- then cover and bake for 1 hour at 350;

Others: Homemade Tortellini soup or chicken vegetable soup- I serve with grilled cheese; Chicken legs or wings bbq'd; chicken breast is versatile-can be baked, browned and simmered, fried; grilled or cooked in the broiler.
Hamburgers, meatloaf, Italian or Swedish meatballs.
Pork roast, pork loin; pork chops- also versatile.
Lamb- roast or chops
Steaks- pick a favorite cut; Pepper steak; London Broil;

Hope this gives you some ideas.
