Foods w/ no high frustose corn syrup?!

Question:

Foods w/ no high frustose corn syrup?

i am trying to cut high fructose corn syrup out of my diet. the problem is- almost everything has it! the only things i now of that doNT contain HFCS[high fructose corn syrup] is 100% real juice (welches, simply orange/lemonade), fruit, organic animal crackers, and water. i mean c'mon even wheat bread has it! :(
-does anyone know of any foods that DONT contain HFCS?
-why do most foods have it anyway?

thanks!

You need to stay away from Processed Foods! They aren't any good for you anyway..Eat Fresh! Buy fresh vegetables and fruits. Buy unflavored yogurt and add your own honey and fruit to it. Make your own cookies, cakes, pies and breads. Use real potatoes and rice, not mixes. Drink real 100 percent fruit and vegetable juices, have real milk or cream with your coffee! Have meats you like that you cook yourself. Detoxify your life.

umm. lets see thats a really kind of an good question but anutuionnot intersit but i know a site about it..

I never eat foods with HFC. You need to shop specifically at health food stores such as Whole Foods. Trader Joes also has some healthy 100% whole wheat breads that are only sweetened with honey. (At Whole Foods too, but they are way more expensive). Other fruit juices that don't have it is Juice Squeeze and any organic juice.

Most processed foods have it because Americans have a sweet tooth, and corn is a very cheap sugar. All I can say about your original question is to read labels, and stay away from processed foods as much as possible. Good quality wheat breads usually have honey or fruit juice instead of corn syrup. If you have an organic market near you, their products often don't contain HFCS.

Its hard to avoid HFCS because it is such a cheap ingredient-its made from genetically modified corn, which is a bad idea in general. I eat only whole foods and snacks that I make from scratch. You wont be able to avoid it in many commercial foods. For drinks, you can buy some concentrated juices, such as pomegranite, blueberry, cranberry, etc. at most health food stores-RW Knudson is a good brand. As for snacks, fresh fruit is a good option, or raw veggies with hummous. I am a vegetarian, so these are what I have for snacks.

Get the Splash Diet juices, they shouldn't have it in it.
My Husband is diabetic, so you will have to read all labels
on everything you buy, look for NO SUGAR ADDED .

Things that are dietetic should not have fructose in them.

Any of the the sweeteners that end in tose like dextrose (in lunch meat) believe it or not, are things to watch out for.

Popsicle brand makes a NO SUGAR ADDED FUDGE CYCLE. Only 40 calories, this is our favorite at this time of the year.

Everything you listed are high sugar items. Good Luck it is a whole life study to eliminate the sugars. We now eat dark chocolate, 65% but 8% sugar is as low as I can stand. My Husband will eat down to 5%, it is almost bitter.

you can also look for things that use evaporated cane juice instead of HFC, try the Odwalla juices and smoothies, they are a drink and a snack in one!

Corn syrup is in everything because 1. Its Cheap. 2. It makes it look better & taste better. (HFCS is addicting, as well.. but shhh they dont' want you to know that)

For a list of HFCS products:

I don't know of a list of products with HFCS, unless you want a completely corn-free list of products. The following site lists products without any corn in them.
http://corn-freefoods.blogspot.com/...

There are many juices without corn syrup, but you really have to look and read labels. There are also several sodas made with cane sugar nowadays. Boylans, Hansens, Blue Sky, Virgils, etc.

But for most non-HFCS foods, you're going to have to visit a local bakery or healthfood store. Good Luck
