Flavored Tea in Iced Tea Maker?!

Question:

Flavored Tea in Iced Tea Maker?

We have a Mr. Coffee iced tea maker & would like to know how to make different flavors of iced tea with it. We have already tried adding fresh mint leaves when brewing, but would like other ideas to try. Please, no recipes that DO NOT use the automatic maker, I already have plenty of those. Thanks!

You can add dried flower petals or bits of dehydrated fruits to tea to perfume and flavor it, too. Rose petals, elderberry blossoms, blackberries or raspberries, etc. are all good. Start with a teaspoon of the petals or fruit and experiment until you get the flavor you want.

One word of caution: make sure that the flowers haven't been exposed to pesticides or exhaust fumes. Organic is always best, and you can sometimes find special tea blends at organic produce stores.

I realize that my answer has nothing to do with an ice-tea-maker. Raspberry and blackberry flavored black tea are my favorite ice teas. I make either, sun-brewed. Add sugar while still warm. Then chill in the refrigerator. this is the best time of the year, of course, to make sun-brewed ice tea. Good luck with the tea-maker, though.
