Free range eggs complete with chicks !!!!?
I have bought a box of free range eggs from a small farm advertising from the roadside, when I boiled 3 of the eggs and cracked them open one had a fully formed chick complete with feathers! Two were part formed. i cracked the other three into a bowl and found another fully formed chick and two part chicks. how gross is that!? i will be seeing the lady who sold me the eggs tomorrow and am unsure how to broach the subject. asking for the 75p back seems trivial and i wouldn't want any children to have found what i found. its put me off eggs!! If these had come from a supermarket i would be kicking *** now but i don't feel that she should still be selling these eggs. what do you think i should say or do??

OMG I would have totally freaked out! This is really awful and I'm sure it didn't make you feel very good to see those poor little chicks. Definitely take them back and tell the lady what happened. Even though the amount of money is small, you are entitled to get it back. This is just not acceptable. Good luck and please let us know how it turns out.
take them back to were you brought them and tell them the kids found this this is really bad

You need to go back and let her know that she sold you fertilized eggs. That's not only inappropriate, but could be illegal due to health codes. Tell her she must ensure that this doesn't happen again. The 75p you can ask for, but getting the point across is much more important.
Just because the chickens are free range doesn't mean they should be mixed with roosters.
I would definitely say something to her about it. Anyone reputable would be checking the eggs prior to selling them.... not selling fully formed chicks!

next time make sure you ask the date they were laid
make sure they are refrigerated.
I gave all my FR eggs to the food bank.
I also penciled the date I picked them up on each egg.
I only use store bought eggs. I have some guarantee that the chickens are healthy and the eggs are sterile.
Holy Crap! this happened to a friend of mine. It's really one of my biggest fears and I think about it everytime I crack open an egg. I'd be beside myself and on the phone with some sort of government official probably talking incoherently.
ttly gross i would ask for my money back asked her for reasurance that it would not happen again i would not call the police or anything like that but i would b rly pessed seing as im a vegitaren, n mixing rosters witch chickens n selling the eggs isnt right.
Speak to the lady to let her know what happened. she may be unaware that eggs that are sold to eat are unfertilized. If she is off with you & continues to sell these eggs then contact Environmental Health through your local council.
