Is honey a good source of carbohydrates?!

Question:

Is honey a good source of carbohydrates?

I like to add honey to my Honey bunches of oates in the morning so when i go to workout, i'll already have like....150g of carbs.

However, I don't know if honey is an empty carb or if it counts as part of the daily carbohydrate intake or not.

Thanks for the help. Also, if you could, list some good carb sources that are easy to make/eat everyday or whatever.

Answers:
It's debatable...a lot of cyclists will eat packets of honey while on long rides or during races to keep their energy up and increase the glycogen stores in their legs. If the pro cyclists do it, then it can't be that bad of an idea!

no its not its just a sugar ruch
eat a bannana more nutirtious

No it is not a good carb. Try adding a piece of fruit to your breakfast instead:)

Honey is an empty carb. It is delicious, and microbally pure, but it is not a good source of lasting energy.

great

honey is super food, in moderate servings. It helps build the bodies immune sustem loke nothing else on the earth. That's natural raw honey, not the purifed store bought stuff.

Honey is an excellent source of carbohydrates as it is almost entirely sugar mostly in the form of Fructose. this is an important feature as it is a treament for people with a genetic disease that prevents them absorbing glucose.

good soruces of carbohydrates

Pasta
Rice
Oats (oatmeal)
Breakfast cereals
Cous cous (cracked bulgar rice)
Potatoes
any breads
All easy to prepare

Honey is an excellent source of carbs. However, this only relates to raw honey - the processed honey that is in cereal has significantly less nutritional value. Honey is almost all sugar, but because the honey is so unprocessed, your body is able to turn it into energy very quickly, which is excellent if you are eating it before you workout.

no it's a good source of sugar
