Did the price on food go up?!

Question:

Did the price on food go up?

i just noticed that now everytime i go to the grocery store i spend 30 dollars more, is it just me? did prices go up? is this happening to you?

Answers:
Yep. What used to be .99 is now 1.49. What used to be 2 for $5 is now 2 for $6. It's due to the price of gas. Trucks have to truck it in, and they pass the cost on to the store which passes it on to you. The price of gasoline hurts in more ways than just what you pay at the pump. It makes the price of everything go up! Haven't seen a pay raise in 3 years though. Go figure.

the price on the gas to transport the food went up, try your local farmers market, they price competitively and you are helping the environment. big business, avoid it wherever you can.

The prices go up like the cost of living goes up but the increase in wags never matches. Go figure.
This is one of life's little mysteries.Kinda sucks.

since 1940? yes.

i think so; i've noticed this each time i've been shopping. i also think we are getting stuck paying regular price for items that used to be no sale or could use a coupon on.

When does it not go up?

Yes it is the same here, the prices keep sneaking up all of the time. We used to get chicken drums a $3.99Kg,
now they are about $4.99Kg and they are smaller.
It is only when you keep track of individual prices that you notice.

I believe they have! It does seem something goes up in price to make the bill higher. And whats up with soda prices? They are over the moon. You hit it on the head!
