actually as far back as middle school home ec i was always taught that eggs are usually good for maybe 2 weeks after the expiration date. did you refrigerate them promptly after purchasing? then they should be fine!! (unless you ever took them out of the fridge for long periods, like if you only used one or two...that could accelerate their going bad, too).

instead of contaminating your cake batter, first crack the eggs into an empty bowl. look at them, sure, but also SMELL them. you should not smell anything AT ALL if the egg is fresh. if it looks weird or smells, throw it out and go buy some new ones.

Crack them open & see what they look like. If they look ok, them they should be fine. Eggs look funny when bad.
Good luck!

They should still be OK, especially for baking. Just crack each one into a cup before adding to your cake batter. A Bad egg will be quite obvious- Peuww! :D

They are fine.

they are only pasturized to go 2 days past their expiration date.
DO NOT eat the eggs! :)

I never knew eggs had an expiration date...ha ha.

I suppose I use expired eggs all the time.

Good advice from above about cracking it in a bowl first.

This old test for freshness has been around for ages..... put the egg in a bowl of cold water. If it sinks, it's still fresh. Toss out a floating egg. I'm guessing it's still fresh.

The expiration date on the carton is the last day that they can be on the store self for seiling to the public. So, they are still good; however, if you crack them and there is a scent or a different look I would not use them.

The eggs are fine. By the time you get eggs from the grocery store they are already 1 to 2 weeks old and they can usually be kept a month after that before their quality begins to degrade to much.

Put them in water if they are bad they will float because of density if they are good they will sink Its because of the change of gas in the egg after it goes bad
