Which blender is best?!

Question:

Which blender is best?

At the moment I have a Black & Decker and I hate the thing. It is louder than a F-16, the blade it too high of the bottom so there is always chunky bits in whatever gets blended and it is terrible at crushing ice.
Which blender do you recommend? I'll pay up to $100 for the perfect blender. Slow and fast are the only speeds it needs.

Answers:
Cuinsart or kitchen Aide.

I've had just about every blender on the market, but these two in my opinion are top dogs.

Kitchen Aide is under $100. Cuinsart is over, but worth it.

I own both. I finally thru my Oyster in the garbage.

look for an Brauhn ice shaver
everything else is dumb, this shaver will make the wolrds best smoothies. but be carefull you will get hooked.\
I bought mine at a restaurant supply company. it was a little expensive but then what isnt today.

I have the greatest blender in the world, ever been in Starbucks and seen the type of blenders they use, one of them, it is amazing...

It is an investment tho, your not getting one of them for $100.00 but if you like to make blended drinks, or instant ice cream, and hot soup (yes, hot soup, it blends so fast it can heat the liquid, but at the same time make perfect ice cream) get one of them...

Its called a Champ HP3 Blender, yes it is a sticker shock but well worth the price. I paid $400.00 for it, but I am sure you can find it cheaper on-line.

I like my oster stainless steel one.
but it is a bit loud too.but it works great.

We use blenders on a daily basis to make salsa at our house, and we have 2....that's how often we use them!

We have an Oster In2it, which is great, but it is close to impossible to remove the blade from the bottom of the jar. It is such a tight fit....if the gasket isn't in perfectly, it leaks.
The controls give splendid results, though. It has about 20 settings, and a clean control panel that can stay nice and clean. (no cracks for food to drip into).

The mechanism on the outside of the jar that turns the blades rusted on the first washing, which makes me nervous to look at, but it doesn't touch the food. It just looks lousy.

It does have a beeper that sounds if you leave the power on, and then it beeps again and turns itself off.

We also just bought a heavy-duty GE blender made exclusively for walmart, and it has 2 settings. Hi and low. It blends great, has tons of power, is a pleasure to take apart for washing (you put it in the base and turn to one side, and it twists apart.)
However, it is so dang LOUD. I use this one more out of the 2, because it can be taken apart easily. It has a heavy heavy glass blender jar, so you know it won't go flying off the machine if you leave it on and walk away.

The oster was about $100, and the GE was about 40, I think.
I bought the oster on ebay, and the GE at Walmart, obviously.

I have the Champ HP3, and it truly is the greatest blender in the world. It is a bit higher then your mark but well worth it. It has many speeds that makes great soup and smoothies.

Good Luck and have fun with cooking.

the rachel ray blender is the best
