Fish Oil turning white - is it rancid?!

Question:

Fish Oil turning white - is it rancid?

The fish oil I keep in the fridge now has some white substance in it, probably from the oxidation because it's been exposed to air. Is it still safe to consume, or does this mean it's rancid?

Answers:
no, I don't think it's turning rancid... it sounds like it's solidifying due to the cold temps... Cold temperatures and keeping in a covered container generally slows down oxidation/rancidity.

Olive oil will solidify in the fridge too.

It is just a few solids emulsifying! But with something like fish oil and nut oils e.g. sesame oil it is best to use wiyhin a couple of weeks! and of course keep in the fridge!
