Yes, there is vitamin C, but the main thing is the fiber. This is where the majority of the fiber of an orange lies.

The outer skin of the orange is called the zest. The white part is called the pith. The zest has a sweet & citrusy taste, where the pith is very bitter. The nutrional content is in the pulp of the orange itself, where the juice is. If you notice when orange sections are served, the pith is all but gone.
