How do you skin a salmon?!

Question:

How do you skin a salmon?

Answers:
Put your fillet on the cutting board skin side down with the tail end on the left and the head end on the right (or the other way around if you are left handed). If you have a small piece of the fillet that is of equal thickness throughout (like you see in this picture, the orientation of the piece doesn’t really matter. Make a cut to separate a small flap of the skin from the fillet in the left corner that's closest to you (or right corner if you are left handed).

Grab onto that flap, and slide your knife between the skin and fillet pointing the blade of your knife slightly into the board (about a 20 degree angle). This way you'll leave the least amount of fish on the skin.

Finally, slide the knife carefully under the fish until the skin has been removed.

to skin, place the fillet skin side downon your counter, point the tail toward you and hold it at the end, slide the knife between the skin and flesh, scraping against the skin to avoid cutting the flesh..good luck

If your right handed place the fillet so the tail end is to your left. Make a cut by the tail end about 1/2-3/4" to get the knife down to the skin. Keep the knife blade down at about 20-25 deg. like your scrapping dough of a work bench. When you get about 2" make a small cut in the skin parallel with the fillet. This will make your life much easier by giving you something to put a finger in to get a good grip. Now assume skinning at 20-25 deg. moving the knife smoothly while moving the tail end of the fish smoothly from side to side. You'll end up with a beautiful skinned fillet, that you can now cut to your liking.
