What types of cheese are healthy and good for you? What types aren't?


Answers:
Just like anything, cheese is good for you in moderation. It is loaded with fat and cholesterol, but is also a very good source of calcium. Needless to say, too much can also cause digestive problems. The site below contains a chart with various types of cheese and their nutritional values.

none, they are all high in fat, maybe feta.

Feta Cheese(made from goat's milk) is good for your health.
And it's alkaline. You can have it everyday in your cooking.

The opposite is Cheese made from cow's milk is acidic.
Not that good for your health. Take moderation will do.

Most of your softer cheeses are higher in fat -- not all, but most. The harder ones are often lower. You can find lowfat cheeses that still taste good, if you look for them.

Stay away from processed cheese food products -- of course, if you do love cheese, this won't be hard at all. Stick with real cheese. That's always better for you.

As with most foods, eat it in moderation and you'll have nothing to worry about.

All cheese is okay in moderation. If you are looking for a nice melting low-fat cheese try Jarlsberg Light. It's a light Swiss cheese and you would never know the difference. Also try switching to hard cheeses like Asiago, Reggiano...they are sharper so you'll use less.

Cottage cheese is the healthiest. It has the lowest fat. Also ensure that you have unprocessed cheese. They are better for you. Cream cheese is good for you too. Stay away from the plastic cheeses.

Oh, my god. I love cheese tooo. I put cheese on almost everything .....at least I used to. I can't really anymore I'm trying to loose weight. Yes, it does have calories and cholesterol and sat fat and trans fat. A lot of it is not that good for you because of the milk etc. I do know that cottage cheese is good and is actually used for diets. The only problem with cottage cheese is that its high in sodium and that can give you high blood pressure. Well, I wash it to take off some of the ssalt. The other kinds like those you use for sandwhiches like the orange, american slices or that famous one thats always on tv i forget the brand but singles i think. They all have some bad points to it just like parmeson and mexican three cheeses, orange white mozarella everything has some bad but they don't hurt if it's just a little bit or in moderation.

woohoo! oh come on, if ur a cheezee lover, who cares it is high in fat or healthy?? as long it tastes like cheeeze, smells like cheeeze, melts like cheezes..that ooozes out on top of ur pizzas, pastas...arrrrrr!! they are ALL GOOD honey!!!...1 thing nutri abt cheeze..its high in CALCIUM!!...THATS a bloody good excuse to chow it all down!! yipppe!!!

Provolone is good I think. Stay away from Velveeta.
