Where do fruit flies come from?
i know that i dont have fruit flies in my house but when i have fruit and it starts to go bad the fruit flies are there .are they in fruit or do they just come out of nowhere.
Answers:
me myself i think that the flies come from the fruit bacause if you put some cooked rice inside of a glass jar it will turn into maggots i dont know how and why but it will happen
A scientist asked this same question several hundred years ago about maggots.
There is no spontaneity here. Female fruit flies lay their eggs in rotting fruit (and other wet, moist things like plants, or even wet rags). Out of the eggs come larvae, they look like tiny worms. Then they feed off the rotting fruit, and turn into more fruit flies. So just throw away old fruit.
One tip, set a glass of water w/sugar in it. For some reason they flies get inside and die. It worked for me a lot.
Insects lay their eggs on every thing
On the fruit there is fruit fly eggs they hatch and you have the flies.
The best way to control them is to only get the amount of fruit that you will eat in two days
or pour vinegar in a small dish they will be attracted to it and when they land on it they will drown. Vinegar smells like rotten fruit.
If you keep your fruit in the fridge you will not have any fruit flies. It is too cold for them to mature.
