What's more fattening - chips OR sausages?!

Question:

What's more fattening - chips OR sausages?

My partner and I have been arguing over this for weeks. So which one's more fattening and why?

Answers:
Chips

Deep-fried pure & simple carbohydrates.

Your body responds to these simple carbs by storing them directly as energy. Sort of like sugar. They pack so much extra energy your body just stores it all straight away.

Secondly, anything deep-fried is just a heart-attack waiting to happen.

Sausages (depending on the type) are mainly protein. Your body can use protein and break it down more efficiently without storing it as fat.

Don't know. But I think I'm going to have sauasage and chips with curry sauce from the chip shop tonight now! At least you know what chips are made from though....

Both of them are fattenting but either way - the 2 of them also have "Low calories-editions"!

Really depends on how it is served. well, fried chips may be more fattening than sausages which is grilled (oil already escape and u may wan to try to use the kichen paper to clean the oil before eating.)

else, normal circumstances, i think sausage is more fattening (since it is an animal product.)

Sausage have loads and loads of fat. Best to grill them if possible.
By the way, there is no need to ever have fried chips - McCain home fries and even better Tesco Finest oven chips are absolutely outstandingly nice, and dont have too much fat.

DEPENDS ON IF YOU ARE LOOKING AT "FATTENING" FROM A FAT POINT OF VIEW OR A CARBS POINT OF VIEW......BOTH DO HAVE A LOW FAT VERSION, EATEN IN MODERATION YOU CAN ENJOY BOTH WITHOUT WORRY...........HOPE THAT MIGHT HELP A LITTLE!! ...NOW GO GET YOURSELVES SOME SASUGE AND CHIPS AND MAKE UP!!! HAHA!!

Got my curiosity up...so I checked on weight watchers ( the diet I follow) Really they are about the same...if you eat turkey sausage, you will have a lower fat content...if we are talking potato chips...can be lower in fat if you don't eat a lot(14 chips is listed as a serving)...french fries very high in fat and can pass sausage if you eat a lot of them...once again it depends on what type of sausage and what it is made of...bottom line, both are very fattening, enjoy them in moderation if you want to stay thin.

i would say sausages, as when you cook them the fat just drips off them. i never eat them.xx

I would say sausages would be more fattening because of their content, but it also depends on how you cook them. Obviously fried sausages would be more fattening than grilled. And fried chips are much more fattening than oven chips. Plain oven chips (non-battered ones) can actually be quite low in fat, and they are quite good for vitamin C too.

well if you think about it sausage would be most fattening until you consider the amount of chips you eat in one sitting compared to how many pieces of sausage. overall i would say that chips would be more fattening just because of how many chips are consumed at one time.

sausages

I think chips

There both fattening

Chips (potatoes) are only fattening because they are cooked in fat. Sausages include animal fat so would be fattening whether grilled, fried, boiled or cooked in oven.

sausages

chips
