it was probably still rationed, so if that was the case you would have needed vouchers for it.

Sorry I wasn't born them. A lot of the older generation has their own milking cows in them days as most of them were farmers. Not many brands of food was available then so people relied on home grown products and daily cows for milk and butter (they had a butter churn for this), hens for eggs and so on. So I think people bought a cow for their milk supply.

I ran to the store in 1945-6 maybe 1950
milk was 25 cents a qt .
PINT's don't think it was available.
That is the start of fast food,
and school lunches for public schools.
I seem to remember coke a cola was 10 cents 6 or 8 oz.
